I always look forward to your next video, and in the meantime I enjoy the previous ones. I always learn more from one of your videos in subsequent views than I did from the previous time I watched it and it is because of my ability to absorb, and not your ability to convey. There is just so much teaching packed into them. I have always found your videos to be a wealth of excellent instruction and very entertaining, and that is the best of both worlds to me. Thanks Marc! :-)

you're instruction is always informative. machining is not nearly as scary as i thought it was in 1977. always had an interest but the math scared me away

You mentioned the "voice-over" on the drill sharpening video. I watched that one (with particular interest in the subject material) but when you mentioned it was a voice-over, I also gave a critical look at the lip-sync. I realize you are dubbing yourself, but you did a great job.

What would you recommend as projects for a High school student in a machining class? We have lathes, mills, and cnc forms of both.

One item we made was a round punch in an adult ed class 26 years back. Another was a clean-out tool for milling machine slots.

Hi Joshua! I am sorry for the tardy response but my health has not been so good lately "but I am feeling much better now!". When reading your question I remembered that I had developed projects and a teaching technique to go with them and I have never explained my teaching approach on video. I have decided to do so in 2019 and thank you very much for the inspiration. What age are your students (generally)? How many students are in the shop at the same time? How much theory time do you have? How much practical (in shop) time do you have? How many machines to you have (how many lathes, mills ....) and finally, what is the objective of the course (general knowledge, confidence boosting, training for future employment ...). I use to do the positioning hammer project, the 1-2-3 block project and the drill point gauge project in my first semester. I had 4 hours of theory a week and four hours of shop time for a 16 week semester. Blueprint reading, language training and math were covered in separate classes. You can download the prints for all of my school projects from the first page (green button with English text) of my website THATLAZYMACHINIST.COM and you will find the accompanying English videos on pages 2 and 3. If you can get back to me with your class info, I will try and help you with the planning of the projects. Marc

I am setting up a Jones & Shipman cylindrical grinder model #1300. It came with a dead center in the head stock. I cannot see how to make the head stock center turn. The machine has a 3 jaw chuck so I believe it should turn. Can you help me ? Thank you

I always thought your English language voice-overs were due to the fact that the original narration was in French. Joyeux Noël et bonne année, mon ami.

Some were made originally in French, and others just had terrible audio.
