Congratulations, Kortney & Erik (sorry if spelling is wrong)!!! You are doing it right! You had the courage to bring children what they need the most! This is exactly what I've been looking for in a video about Forest School! This is what I do and exactly how I feel about and why I opened my Forest School! Thank you, thank you for showing and saying what an outdoor program for children is. We do the same things (minus the snow) at Naturally Nurtured Nature School in Georgia, USA. This is so common in other parts of the the world but not here in the southern part of the country! We have a lot of learning to do about teaching outdoors and I'm doing my best to get the word out. Thank you so much for making and sharing this video.

Absolutely amazing.......well done Courtney. Technology is taking over and it breaks my heart seeing it happen. Kids need to be kids. They don't need sugar, junkfood, tablets and cellphones. They need scraped knees, and getting dirty.....play,play,play....... being in nature with friends and family is the best solution❤💯🙏

Wow, great job. As a child I hate public school and being trapped in 4 brick walls just sitting listening to lectures for 8 hours a day. This would be awesome even 1 day a week I fell that this would be very beneficial in addition to math and English. Though I am definitely way aged out of the program I would’ve enjoyed this so much when I was little.

❤ great job, Courtney! With the push to ‘parentify’ children in many western communities, I’m glad to see people who understand the value of a child simply being a child. Many adults would benefit from this model too! To give the tech stuff a rest for a while is essential tin developing a strong sense of self. Love y’all!!!❤

I'm glad these types of schools are getting more publicity lately. Gives me hope for when I'm raising a kid that there's something different or at least more than traditional and homeschooling options. The Try Guys went to forest school for a day too recently and it was adorable and enlightening.

Lovely to see smiling muddy faces! When they said about play not being valued in our modern society - I totally agree, it's almost as if the modern world is trying to destroy childhood! Play is the most important thing human beings can do - we are born to play!

They got these schools all over Scandinavia, Finland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland I saw a video about it, it was about a Forest Kindergarten in Denmark

Hello Eric I have a question how did you figure out ways to homeschool? specifically what would an average homeschooling day would look like for a child? Is it based on interest of the child, or do you have government requirements to meet?

The answer is both. We have enrolled in some pretty open ended programs that allow for proof of learning to meet the requirements through play and inquiry. We also aren’t afraid of getting “zeros” or “not completed” on any standardized reporting at this stage. We both want our kids to end up with high school diplomas and for that grade 10-12 would require some more buy-in. But even then, there are some alternative options and online schools that meet the BC curriculum in a variety of ways that more align with our values.
