Hey man! Welcome back. You know, as a Warden, if you use top guard to block an incoming attack and tap LMB the moment the incoming hit connects you automatically perform an guaranteed parry strike for some really heavy damage. Only works for top attacks though. I am only 10 minutes in the video so you might actually use it later but so far you haven't so I thought it might be helpful advice.

Hey man, thanks for the tip! You're right, I don't do it enough and it's not because I don't want to but I find it rare to get good opportunities to use it based on reaction instead of prediction. 90% of the time when I want to get that top counter to go off, I have to feint my top heavy to bait a parry to use the top counter but a lot of the opponents in this portion of the footage don't take the parry baits so it makes all my feints look stupid haha! When it comes to raw heavy attacks from the top though I almost always go for those top counters because I'm pretty comfortable with reading top heavies from most classes. Top lights on the other hand are still a little fast for me to go by reaction. TBH I think the way the top light works it needs a bit of build up before it's actually active making it even harder to do by top light reaction. I'll experiment some more though during release for sure. Edit: In my upcoming uploads I do have quite a number of people who actually do fall for the top heavy feints and it's beautiful when you get the top counter combo off for a nearly perfect untouched win, haha!

Well, I should have expected you would know about it. :P Anyway, I would like to know how you "get the top counter combo off for a nearly perfect untouched win". I mean usually when I pull off the counter the enemy has enough time to block so I am curious what you use to follow a successful counter. - Warden for life. Edit: Never mind. I hadn't noticed your "For Honor - Beautiful Animations (Warden Edition)" video. You literally show off a perfect combo after a successful counter there. Now I can't wait to try it. :P

Dude awesome gameplay! I nearly got my Warden to rep 2 and every day tried to incorporate new moves into combat or just get better at some aspect of the warden. By the end of the beta I was steamrolling most players. I'd found ways to get the shoulder bash into combos reliably, I'd gotten really good at guardbreaking and comboing into guardbreaks, then countering guard breaks, also pretty good at the overhead counter, I found out how good his zone attack can be if you use it at the right times. The thing I need to start doing more in fights is feinting, which I see is a big part of your gameplay and it opens up tons of opportunities! I feel like I'm perhaps a little more aggressive off the start than you though (sometimes to my detriment haha). it would be really cool to duel you and compare/learn from eachother! some things i noticed that you could improve just based off this gameplay is your throws. you would often guard break someone and then go right into a heavy attack which some heros can recover fast enough to block. if you throw them into a wall, it stuns them longer and thus guarantees a heavy hit. ive found its almost always best to throw my opponent after a guard break unless you're way out in the open. another thing is you never seemed to try to get a big combo chain going. best way of doing so with the warden (in my limited playtime at least) was this combo: light attack x2 -> guard break -> light attack x2 -> shoulder charge -> guard break -> throw into wall if possible -> heavy attack. now rest since you'll be out of stamina most likely haha this almost always seems to throw your opponents gameplan straight out the window if you can get this going early, and sometimes, your opponent will be dead just from this combo lol there are other variations of that you can do depending on the situation too of course but thats the gyst! Deus Vult yo! :D

Back again from one of your forum posts, haha. This time I have some pointers for ya ;P You should do Light x2 -> Shoulder Bash after a Guard Break, unless you can Wall Stagger. It opens up a lot more followups than Top Heavy, plus Top Heavy usually gets blocked. At least do Side Heavy since it's guaranteed damage (1 bar).
@NoGround947 жыл бұрын
Just an addition: Top heavy off GB from Warden can always be blocked unless you have the up stance before the GB when getting a wall stagger. *Always* go for Side Heavy if you want to land the GB>Heavy. You can also cancel Shoulderbash into GB if the opponent attempts to sidestep, making the CBG impossible (can't be countered on a dodge).

You don't know how much personal satisfaction I got from you beating that Nobushi at the start of the video. Also the fight at the end; against the Conqueror; really cool! :D PS. How do you grab and throw them in any direction /17:18. Not talking about the kick with the foot /18:18. Tap twice the guard brake? Like in the same way you counter guard break /16:43? Thanks!
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
Haha! And yeah you can throw people in any of the four main directions when you successfully grab someone, then press the grab button again in combination with a direction. Not pressing a direction when you initiate a throw will automatically throw in the default forward direction.

The video audio is way too low, but hey, at least we know you are alive!
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought the audio was low as well and I blame my soundcard! It sounded loud while playing to the point I had to keep turning it down to not blow out my ear drums yet the recording is super low after I check it.

Yo man wondered where youve been. Do you still play Black Desert? And what system requirements do you have? Planning to build a new setup for gaming, editing, streaming. Currently debating on buying a i7 6700k and a 1080 8GB. maybe I could go a bit more towards budget but still performance!
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
I currently do not play Black Desert, no =(. As for my system specs, main components I have: GPU: GTX 1080 (two in SLI) CPU: Intel i7-4790k RAM: 32GB DD4

How are your parrys knocking them back? Most of the time I parry they hit me right through the parry, I think it's because of heavy attacks - how do you parry those?

why is there no hit sound when hitting nobishi?
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
You know, I'm not really sure. It's very strange cause some of my other recordings do have hit sounds. My For Honor was being really funky the first two days of this beta so I didn't even get a chance to play until the last two days.

Anybody else having problems with strict NAT which prevents you from playing with friends?
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
I have strict NAT but I seemed pretty okay this beta. I do think that it would be great if Ubisoft can offer better solutions for connectivity for us strict NAT players though.

Hey, what controller you use? Or maybe mouse + keyboard?
@vesteroth77547 жыл бұрын
in a previous video he said he uses the controller and also that he doesn't like the keyboard since they are hard to use. Maybe he's changed though.
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
I actually used purely Mouse + Keyboard for this beta =D. I used to hate using Mouse + Keyboard but I guess... I broke it in? It feels a lot better this beta and not sure if they tweaked something or I just got really used to it, haha!
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
Yup, I've been converted to mouse + keyboard fully now haha!
@recless86677 жыл бұрын
Me too, actually. Had a lot of issues at the start but once I turned off mouse smoothing and lowered the stance sensitivity everything was a lot more reliable; I kept changing stances back when I stopped moving the mouse, it was really frustrating until I figured out the culprit :D

Is this game more fun then bdo?
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
I currently enjoy the combat far more then BDO, that's for sure, haha! Much more of a emphasis of a Rock Paper Scissors balance which I think is important for competitive (and fun!) game design. Ubisoft's best game for sure. Definitely can't recommend this game enough.

I was saying in the reddit thread where you posted your dope as fuck animation cancels that I NEEDED to fight you. But I already did! You tore my scrawny PK ass apart something fierce lol. Hope you're willing to teach me Warden when the game drops, or maybe during the Open Beta next week?

Wait I did!? Who were you? LOL!
@Yescek7 жыл бұрын
My name's Yescek on literally everything, I mained PK the whole time. And as I'm reviewing my footage I'm less and less certain that we fought. I could have sworn we did though, once I saw your In-game name it immediately clicked because I only ran into two Wardens who used feints and would have put money on you being one of them.
@SeanSappCameraguy7 жыл бұрын
Is there a reason you never throw anyone to the ground after guard breaking them with no stamina? Makes no sense to me.
@Playt1g7 жыл бұрын
I do it sometimes if I want to actually finish the opponent. You can in fact see me do it in this very video in some of the later fights when I feel like dealing a large amount of damage in a short time. If I'm not doing it, it's almost always because I want the fight to last longer or to experiment with different things while I have the time =P.

I find this video is a lot more pleasant than other youtubers' takes on gameplay. I miss the days of when you can look up "Call of Duty 76 Gameplay" and all the top searches would be just that. Gameplay. No music. No annoying or reactive commentary, just gameplay. That's just my 2 cents though.
