Actual concept designers and infrastructure planners and SO MANY other talented creatives could have made this specatular, accessible and durable. Instead, we're seeing electronics and bricks trying to escape the walkways after just a few months. The Disney villains have gained control!

They need to use Fiber Optics again. They can put pretty LEDs on the other side, where there's no pressure washing water to worry about.

Those Fiber Optic bricks were really nice, you remember them? All gone. They dont have any imagineers with the creativity to reconstruct those lights. These imagineers are so destructive now and cannot create anything

Guys, guys, this is new, unproven technology, we're talking about. Outdoor Lights?!? That Change Color!?! This is cutting edge stuff, right here. You can't expect it to go off without a few hiccup. I'm sure, once this tech is fully researched, Disney will have this under control. 10...maybe 20 years, tops they'll figure it out.🤔🤣🤣

The ground lights are a cool idea, but horribly executed. The centerpiece planter should be a new fountain. And please just remove that Walt statue...it's so sad. When I visited last year to see the changes, there was one poor cast member standing around waiting for people to take pictures with the statue, but no one wanted to and just kept walking by.
@Superman1-213 күн бұрын
All of this is so sad honestly. I wish Disney would have some integrity.

I think Disney lost a lot of good Imagineers when they announced they all had to move to Florida. It was easier for young people than senior team members with kids in school, spouses with careers, etc., so a lot of the most experienced talent left. Even though the move was cancelled the damage was done.

As for their EVC, they are horrible and almost double what you can rent outside the parks. Never rent a scooter at Disney or any theme park if you can avoid it!

Wait so you're telling me anyone can rent out a mobility aid without proof of need, but people with mental disabilities need to show medical proof to get assistance in the parks (and most have still been denied of that help)?! How does that make sense Disney?!
@destinycaptain24715 күн бұрын
Yep. Why do they NEED to prove anything. What if you jacked up your knee a day ago and can’t walk very well but want to go to parks with the rest of your family. What if you have lung cancer and can’t walk very far. The list goes on and on. This isn’t DAS. It’s a scooter rental. You can get them from 3/4 different services in Orlando as well as from Disney itself.

Yes it's absolutely ridiculous! And IMO 90% of the people who are in one can just get off their ass and walk they're just too lazy. ECV's are a pain in the ass when there's large groups of people.

Because too many people abused it like literally all the time to do things like skip the line, and you ACTUALLY didn’t have to show proof. Think about if me and about 1000+ other people just like me day in and day out asking to skip literally every person in line because “they can’t handle lines because my anxiety wahhh”. The exact people you’d imagine too. Colored hair, big service dogs, etc. If you have anxiety around large crowds or really any social anxiety or mental unrest that is serious enough for you not to be able to wait in a line WHY ARE YOU COMING TO A THEME PARK?!

@@ducktails1695 I agree. I'm a local pass holder and it seems the number of people using these things increases every time I'm there. There are so many, it's become a hazard when walking in crowds.

@lifequest745313 күн бұрын
well should people step over them? but that isn't what is damaging them. They can't stand up to the night time pavement washes when they spray the sidewalks. they get went and short out. My guess is the electronics are failing but I'm not a imagineer, thank goodness.
@Wrecker3D15 күн бұрын
When you put electrics, like lights, underground you better make sure it's watertight/proof... Problem is though, you still need access if something shorts or fails, the other problem (Don't get no-one thought about this one) there's no seal that won't break (eventually) when pressure washed... The force behind that water is often strong enough to remove paint, 'baked on' debris and other strong bonds, no amount of rubber, latex or similar sealing compound will be able to keep the water out (or from creeping behind making it pop-up) _in this case_ the lighting gutter. It might be budget cuts triggering these thing, but please don't ruin your own magic by not thinking things through, or ignoring small problems that can become a huge pain the ... projects that need (constant) fixing while they could have been prevented... And if you don't have a solution to all problems (yet) postpone building it till you have the proper solution (hopefully tested and well) -I know that the Efteling theme park in the Netherlands tests out if things work beforehand (when possible, of course ride systems can only be tested properly after install), if it doesn't work as intended or causes trouble they retry/redesign that element of the area/construction/queue etc.
@lifequest745313 күн бұрын
I have worked on some projects similar. The only way they will be able to get a long term display is make each of the curved fixtures a sealed unit. And that means they have to stock them because when they go bad, you can't fix them, you have to replace them. that is high cost and IGER won't spend money to do that. that would affect the 10, million dollar bonus's.

IDK why it's so damn hard for a company of this caliber to make some freaking lights work consistently. It can't be this hard! 🤦♂🤦♂ And this project took what 4yrs to finish? 4yrs and they still have it all screwed up. I love the lights but it's embarrassing that they don't work. The area at night looks pretty good IMO. I cannot stand that damn Encanto stage though. You can't even hear the World Celebration music because of the damn latin music blasting.

EPCOT Center used to have a relaxing more ambient music in the back ground, it was very nice, I'd love to find a music clip of it, but it seems to have disapeared forever. The garbage playing in the back ground now is not appropriate,then again, Epcot is changing to a 6 flags, without the flags, so you have that.
