Thanks for the kind words :) The song is called "Here Lies The Heart" and is very much a tribute to Chopin who I love dearly. It will be part of an upcoming record called "Bitter Suites: The Outlier Nocturnes", a collection of solo guitar pieces. Keep playing! Andy Timmons"

I'm glad everyone gets to see what a wonderful person Andy Timmons is, and what silly good tone he has. Someone on here said it perfectly, Andy doesn't play any throw-away notes, not even when he's unplugged and talking with people...he is always purposeful and in emotional-tune with his guitar. What can't be understated is, how Andy's constant guidance pushed us to design something better than we ever could have without him. Andy is a force that brought us to a higher level. Living in DFW, hitting all the shops and shows, you hear endless stories about how humble and nice Timmons is. My own brief encounter at Dallas Guitar Show: was playing a BadCat HotCat, deciding between it, a Suhr Badger 30 and a Friedman Smallbox 50(which I took home) when none other than GearMannDude said, "Andy Timmons just stopped to watch you play." Me, "Nuh uh." GMD, "Yeah, he was checking out." Glad he told me after he left. Honestly, I'd have been happy to chat him up, and from what I hear, he'd have been happy as well. Saw him last year doing the Hendrix thing with Josh/JHS. He's just so darn likeable, with the most tasty, tastiest? Playing.

Dan’s unashamed attitude reacting emotionally towards guitar tones and notes is inspiring. It shows how passionate he is about guitars. It also shows the power of music. Sometimes we make ourselves to busy with life and pushing emotions down and music allows us (sometimes even forces us) to relax our minds and allow those emotions to come up. It’s moments like these when we can forget the things that separate us and have unity. Man, good stuff Andy and thank you Dan and Mick for providing an avenue for this to happen.

When Andy started playing that magical progression my eyes were flitting back and fourth between Dan and Mick. It really was something else. The tone; the note choices; the dynamics; just wow! 'Andy makes Dan cry (really)' will be one of those vids people will return to time and time again. Hearing that immediately makes you want to play guitar. Friday night in with the lads at TPS! I could wax lyrical for hours phwoar...

I have filed it away and will watch that moment again every day for at least the next week. Momentous.

I've watched this video so many times. I'm sitting here with my QC and the Halo in the FX Loop, following Andy's setup. Him playing 'Here Lies the Heart' always gets me and I have to pause for a moment. Incredible talent.

This is exactly what I needed for tonight’s gig… I’ve been so uninspired and out of love with music in the past couple of months and it’s induced the black dog in a way I haven’t had in a long time. Thank you to the 3 of you for inspiring me to get the big board out for tonight again. I’m going to try and find the passion through the music again. Love yas Xoxox

That was beautiful. Thanks Dan for giving Andy Timmons the most genuine compliment ever.

Hearing Andy's isolated noodling in a small, quiet environment has only made me appreciate his talent even more. What a player.

What an inspiring video. Motivated me to dust off my guitar cases and amps and spend the whole weekend playing guitar, tweaking my pedal board, and re-watching the piece where Andy makes Dan cry. Thank you!

I teared up at the same time Dan did - unexpectedly too. It's one of those things you can't really try to resist lol Just let the sound do it's thing. That was such a heavy, yet uplifting piece Andy played. There was intention in every single note. What a musician.

Was it improvised? Or is it on one of his albums?

And frankly, it was such a simple melody, You knew where it will go, what will be the next note he will play - it was like we had this melody in us all a long, just forgot it over life’s struggles, our ego and fake goals. And suddenly Andy brings back to us this sudden realisation of what is important, this almost effortless harmony, a sense of calm that we could achieve by being in the moment and letting go of our worries for even just a brief moment…

I was like ok, I already know what to expect b.c Andy's playing gave so much emotion to Dan which lead to tears. Still had the same effect on me. Wow, Amazing 👏 🙏🏻

I have a HALO inbound from the That Pedal Shop to make sure you guys get a few Pennies since it is due to your videos that I finally decided what delay I was going to upgrade to from my carbon copy. Just a further note. Ordered Saturday morning and had it in hand just after 1pm Sunday… That’s Amazon fast…… nice job. PS: the pedal has outstanding signal clarity. Analog dry through….😎

Just getting to watch this and am completely blown away buy Andy's tone, touch, and talent but the fact that he genuinely seems like a great person is the kicker. I am truly a fan of his now and will be diving into his music much more thoroughly. Bravo Mick and Dan for another great show!

I’ve been an Andy fan since 1991. He’s become one of the tastiest players out there. He can play anything. Awesome show!!!

The guitar is such a versatile instrument that can make you cry, make you laugh, make you rage, or take you to serenity. I love it! My favorite instrument by far. I also play bass, violin, and piano...but none can do for me what the guitar does.

What a great show! I had the good fortune of living and playing in Denton in the late 80's when Andy first came to Texas and trust me, he was every bit as good then. Just killing on a Squire Strat. His musical memory is outrageous. He used to perform "Stump the Guitarist" where for a $1 you could name any song and see if he knew it. Not only did he know it, he knew the entire solos note for note. Next time he's on you gotta try and stump him. Get your wad of $1s ready!

What a great episode! TPS is a recent favorite and Andy Timmons is also a relatively recent influence and discovery. Watching you together in one place and talking about guitars, pedals, sounds and tones and music is so entertaining and a treat. And those tears that Dan shed near the middle is much deserved, because Andy Timmons is such a monster guitar player and a beautiful musician. Great show Dan and Mick!

I am fortunate to live in Plano, TX about 10 mins from where Andy lives and hear him play often at the sanctuary. Talk about a tear jerker, at his show a few weeks ago one of his former students passed away and Andy played electric gypsy on the kids guitar with his family there as a tribute to him.

Andy Timmons impressed the hell out of me with not only his playing, but his personality, at the NAMM show years back. He was so kind, so genuinely interested in talking to fans, I barely knew who he was at the time, I absolutely got into his music after meeting him. I can still remember meeting him vividly, and that was 20 years ago, nicest guy in the world, and I don't throw that around often.

I totally would’ve cried too Dan! Dang it, I almost cried just watching you cry. I get it, it’s the tone but also a spiritual thing sitting that close to something like that because you can literally feel heat coming off of it. Since you possess so much knowledge on that blues breaker style transparent tone, I can imagine hearing it played so beautifully up close is unreal. Jealous! 😎 Best KZbin channel out there. Cheers.
