In this episode of "That Peter Crouch Podcast," Euros edition, Peter Crouch is joined by his co-hosts to discuss THE EUROS. The conversation includes a deep dive into the standout performances of Euro 2024, surprising underdog victories, and key tactical insights from recent matches.

Where was a Tony figure when i needed them! Another good option, as what i did is to go to the US for a university scholarship. Some very good players, top facilities, an amazing option if feasible for players.

Agreed. I love tony pulis for some of the best times we had a stoke in the premier but his tactics are outdated and it's being proven today with Southgate inept playstyle

Says the guy with no coaching badges.. etc etc... name an England team that beat Germany 2-0 int he knock out stages, Ukraine 4-0.. name an England team that played better football without going back 50yrs... arrogant England fans described well by pulis... the most consistent thing is the arrogant fans: maybe there is the reason, not all the coaches/players.

With that squad, Southgate should be winning something. Standard of international teams is weaker today than it was in the past. Secondly, tactical ineptitude at key moments has proven fatal to their hopes in both the last Euros and will likely be the case this time. Football isn't played on paper, and your analysis isn't thorough if you overlook those moments.

After Allardyce Southgate is seen as a safe pair of hands, he won't be any trouble to the FA , he'll get England to a tournament, out of the group stages to the knockout round and maybe even to a final and if England can win then thats a bonus , if they don't will well then theres always the next tournament, he's a safe pair of hands to the FA and that's good enough for them.

I was one of the 2/3 players that are bookmarked to make it at stoke. Steve Holland came in and fucked the system completely. It really fucks with your head, especially as a young lad.

Gareth Southgate is the white toast of blandest English football there is. He is a yes man for the FA and nothing more. He follows his orders, doesn't make waves and plays the players they tell him to. He has no original thoughts, no tactical acumen and I would take a Sunday league coach like Stephen Howson and his FC Paddock than Southgate any day. No system, no tactics, no plan. Its like his largest goal in life is to not lose and squeeze out of group play. Not a single game has it ever looked like he made a move or set the team up to beat another good or rated team. What is he like 10% win percentage vs decent teams and beats the nobodies of europe. Sad. He should have been fired years ago. He is a disgrace. His managing is far worse than his mediocre career. But if you want a white and plain and bland manager, he fits the bill from central casting. Like I said, he is merely a figurehead for the FA who doesn't make waves and does and says what he is told. Not sure who has the hand up his bum or if they use remote control. But for once I would like to see him fired up, pushing the players. Managing games like he wants to win them. Not just eke out another bland group exit. I love Tony Pulis and wish he was still in the Premier League. His games were exciting to watch. He took what were average players, but played them to their strengths. Long Throws, Tall angular Strikers, Tough Defense. He was fun to watch when he took Stoke to the premier league. England is missing those kind of coaches now. Big Sam, Pulis, Warnock and so many others like them. Chris

In other words you cannot debate the topic or subject and choose to insult instead. My point is he is a terrible manager, he is bland, he plays to not lose. He barely beats the bad teams, draws with the mediocre teams and usually gets destroyed when facing good or great teams. He picks his lineup after they are approved by his bosses. His demeanor is plain white bread. His behavior is plain white bread. His lineup is plain, his tactics are plain if there any. He has been given during his tenure one of the best lineups England has ever had and he literally scuffs it every time. I am not English. I am a third party neutral. I played as a keeper at University level. I have a tiny bit of knowledge. I watch some of the best neutral analysts in England. Southgate is a joke. Why was Big Sam hired then fired? Because he stood up for himself and did not speak the party line. The FA in England are nothing more than the Labour Party running the sport. Its woke, its sad and sometimes completely disgusting. Now, when you want to talk brass tacks and discuss Southgate's tactics and man management and team selection and look what that produced over the last three games perhaps you will not be silly and actually discuss the topic.

Oh you don't think there is a blacklist based on player behavior or statements? Are you mentally challenged? If you make a statement that does not align with the FA's political ideology then you are blacklisted. If you get into trouble you are blacklisted. How totally unaware are you? Let me guess, you are totally ok with the FA charging Everton and Nottingham Forest for minor infractions and deducting points but sitting on 151 major infractions by Man City that should strip them of their titles, of points and permanently remove their ownership and managers from Football. Yet the FA will not address that situation. How about the FA and the cheating scandal of VAR this year. It was outrageous. It was obvious cheating. They broke their own rules repeatedly. Only certain teams were hit with obviously wrong calls when the same person made the opposite call that same week or week before. Yet, you somehow think the FA does not lay down the law? Do you believe what the BBC news tells you? Do you trust Labor? Tories? Is Ukraine winning? I mean where do you get your news and have you ever been talk to think critically? That used to be the hallmark of a classical education and England used to be famed for teaching such. I guess that no longer happens. Now let me set you straight. You have an opinion, I have an opinion. Neither is right or wrong. Both are merely so much fart gas escaping our faces. You refuse to debate the points I made as to why I believe the opinion I stated. Instead you just you are wrong. That is not debate. That is intellectually dishonest. You used the word silly as a description for my opinion. That is an insult. It always has been and always will be. When you diminish someone else's opinion during a debate with an insult you are admitting you cannot refute their position with actual facts so you must insult. Sad. Try again. Perhaps use words other than insults. Perhaps go point by point and show me where I am wrong. They hired Southgate because of the trouble with Big Sam, Southgate was a panic caretaker 3 months before the world cup!! His track record is boosted by the easy games we play in qualifiers, because as soon as you take those games out, his win rate doesn't look so sharp!!!

I wonder if you'd change uour mind if Southgate won this tournament? This arrogance is a but gross. Name an England team that played better football. 2-0 vs Germany, 4-0 vs Ukraine, 3-0 vs Senegal etc; all in the knockout stages of major tournaments.
