You built her a castle 🏰 how romantic you are 💖 as for walking two dogs...I trained my first dog to walk next to me by keeping the extend lead short. Then my pup walked on her extended leaded at her pace as she got used to everything around her. Then I’d let them both off at the park and walk back the same way. Nearly 2 years on it still works a treat! Perhaps take Pablo out alone first for a bit and get him walking alongside you, if that’s possible. Good luck! Love your vid xxx

I walk my three pugs on three separate leashes. They actually braid the leashes as we walk. I don’t have any magical advice about walking them except to say you’ll get used to it, and as Winston gets bigger he’ll be able to keep up better with Pablo.

We had the same problem in June July when our new French bulldog was tiny. The couplers will work better when Winston is bigger but still not great. The only thing we found worked was to tie both leads together(material leads of course, not retractable) so the puppy can walk slower and the bigger dog can walk ahead but you have control over both of them with 1 handle. We still do this now and the pup has just turned 11 month and he is now in front,haha 👍

On another note when my family stilled had our pugs we had to worry about the same problem, our older pug wasn't the most enthusiastic about walks while the other loved them. When I walked them I would do it separately so that the dogs could go at their own paces. The only other option would be to just put up with having to keep moving your arms around.

I would agree Pablo is being protective. The best luck I’ve had with getting my pug to stop barking is to redirect her by calling her to me and having her at least sit and maybe one more trick and then giving her a treat. You have to separate the two actions, barking and being given a treat or they think they are being rewarded for the barking and it will encourage it. Good luck, I know you have the patience because you are doing wonderful with your boys! Try putting the splitter on a regular leash, there is more control with a non retractable leash. I had to switch to one with my older dog because of you give her an inch she would try to take a mile.

I loved the Winston-cam haha. Soooooo about the bark and Pablo attitude, dogs actually got too a "terrible 2" phase (that's why some need to go to classes at 3-4, because it's an excellent time to teach them stuff, the puppy phase passed and are fully receptive) it maaaaay be part of the problem but I think it's mostly because of Winston as you explained, he is trying to protect him. For the walking the two of them at the same time... At first I used to walk mine with one leash and a double end extension, they learned to walk together just fine but then I noticed that they became overprotective and troublesome and because they were in the same leash I could not do proper corrections to their attitude so the dog trainer teacher told me that, despise it will be hard at first the best thing to do was two leases, the more problematic on your strong arm and keep working on it, and yeah, like he said at the end it was the best, got more control of them and it means that with time they started to be less assholes. What I must say is... I don't know a trainer that will recommend you a retractable leash (I'm not one I just work with them sometimes as a helper, just to clarify) I actually cringe when I see one.

Stressful weekend! Small stuff. Seems like we're not the only ones who've had a tough start to 2019. Perfect end on a bad Sunday, though.:) Pablo's just happy to have someone to talk to. Seriously, I understand the concern about barking and neighbors. Dad's dog never used to bark. Then dad went into the hospital for many months and he couldn't have his dog back for a few more months, and his dog had become very vocal. My aunt who already has a dog, took care of dad's dog for nearly a year. So much unlearnt! I hope others have answers for your questions and I'm sure that some viewers will be watching the comment section as well.

Hey Karl, walking two dogs is hard when you have a pup, you can’t use the split lead until they are the same size, so Winston needs to grow up first. What we did while we had puppies is drive them to the park to walk them together. And the park was only 1 street away, but it was easier for one person to do that than to try and walk to the park. We then did lead training on the street with just the pup, 20 mins every other day. Now all my dogs have grown up I walk all of them to the park no trouble and I have 3 dogs - 2 pugs and 1 Labrador size mongrel 👍😃😍🐾🐾 xxx hope this helps xx

When you are walking both dogs together maybe get a walking belt for Pablo so you have his lead attached to the walking belt (you may just need to get a standard lead for him instead of the flexi lead when your on your own, then you have Winston on the flexi lead so he can walk at his own pace behind you and you don't have to have your hands on Pablo, just a suggestion it's worked for me before with my two, my beagle zig zags all the time so I have a halti lead for him which is round my waist and on his harness and our lab just plods at his own pace so he is on a standard lead which I hold in my hand, as for the barking maybe a pet corrector spray to startle him and stop him from barking that way I think he feels he has to protect Winston our lab did the same after our Japanese Spitz passed away

I have no answers 😥. I just continued to twist and turn too. I was walking a pug and a shepherd mix. Very hard to do. Tried all different ways. Nothing worked. Oh well 😋. The boys are playing so good together!! The outdoor adventure with the bushes was cute ...chewing on everything. That castle is adorable. Hey Karl, I have 2 pugs as well, brother and sister. I usually don’t walk them together cuz they just pull me in different directions, but when I do, I use a leash/belt for my female, cuz she’s a princess and won’t do her business elsewhere than in our backyard...and I use the real leash for my male... Also, for the barking or doing something they shouldn’t do, our vet recommended a water spray cuz it doesn’t involve voice or hands...it worked for us!!

Sometimes pugs just bark or do funny things for attention. If they're even the least bit jealous, and ours get very jealous sometimes, the barking will double. We usually get him to play with something to stop, but that doesn't always work.

Winston is very cute. If i were you, you should start training Winston. Just to potty train, lay down some house rules and basic commands. Get him used to other stimuli like vacuums or other dogs that way they wont have a troublesome personality when they reach 12 weeks old. If Winston is in the bitty mode either let him nibble your fingers a bit or get a soft chew toy. I have a bit of experince with two dogs. Walk them seperately because two dogs tend to play around with your leash to the point you end like a tangled cord. Until Winston grows up a bit you can walk them together but for now, walk them separately. You guys are on your way to 40k subs. Keep it up!

I have two a pug (Hugo) and a rescue (Daisy), if I'm walking them both on my own I have to use the split harness otherwise everyone gets tangled in the leads. They both do go at separate paces (Daisy had been known to try and run off while Hugo going to the toilet 😂) but the more you walk the two of them together they'll adjust a bit more to each other's speeds and it won't be quite as hard. Until then try and walk somewhere in the middle of their speeds, and I can only wish you luck. It's a challenge but it's worth it in the end 😘🐶

I have 3 dogs: 2 pugs and a lab-mix and I walk with all of them at the same time, the trick is the leash, you have to use a non elastic one, that way you can have them on your side by shortening the leash. The ones that you use let the dogs walk at their pace and pull out every time they want, and that's precisely what you need to avoid when walking 2 or more dogs at a time ;)

To stop barking just get a small drinks bottle with something to rattle (dry peas or a few 1p coins) its a sudden distraction.. We used a training lead that allows you to clip it around your waist This allows you to focus one at a time. They are great we still use ours now we had different colours so no confusion with leads.This way your hands can be free. Plus they are very long . We bought a industrial carpet cleaner ideal for puppy stage with cream and grey carpets. Love the boys they are getting on great. The reason why he is barking he is telling Winston to come and help him protect their home. He is now the leader of the pack. Love watching you guy's. At moment I can't be with my two pugs I'm just recovering from a coma. I miss my boy's so so much... good thing your showing people both sides of looking after pugs the ups and downs. So many pugs end up at dog's trust and pug rescue. Some people really don't know how to look after these little guys and the work.they can cause. No pug likes the rain and will happily pee inside no matter how well house trained you think they are. Mine I push them out the door and they'll actually fake a wee. LOL So clever.😁 they make me smile everyday. Sorry if I've spelled anything wrong my eye sight is still badly reflected every thing is blurred.. looking forward to more adventures..

Enjoyed the pug play fighting. Pablo's quality of life has improved. When my second pug was a puppy, I do not remember any trouble walking them on separate leads. The younger one is naturally more athletic. She likes to be out in front. Mostly, they walk together within a few feet of each other. You are going to have to adapt. It was not a problem for us.

I have two pugs, one stronger than the other and honestly walking both of them never gets easy. You should get them separate retractable leads and hold each in different hands. Let the faster one go in front with a longer lead and the smaller one can walk with you with the shorter lead

These too are so cute! Have you tried putting one lead around a bumbag that you wear around your waist? I also have two small dogs...one pulling as hell, one sleeping while walking. To me it is much more relaxed if the pulling one is secure by the bumbag cord...thus the leads don‘t get twisted that easily and I can almost enjoy walking them 😊 Maybe it works for Pablo as well. What is a Bumbag? And I had the same thing while walking 2 dogs. The pug on a mission nut didn't pull...my cavalier had to smell and pee on every blade of grass, tree, bush! It was maddening but we all adjusted then my cavalier passed on to greener pastures😪😭. Weirdly, after that my pug started smelling all of "his sister's" favorite spots. Very sad. I'm saving for a pug puppy so we'll start all over!

Both of my dogs are over 34kg (75lbs), and I trained both of them to respond to me while walking witch a click button. They both move at different speeds and when I would click the button, they would both stop and respond to me and then continue walking at the same pace and every time one got faster or slower, I use the click and they would stop, response d and continue. Now all I have to do is sometimes make a click sound with my tongue and they know to slow down and match the other's walking pace.

When I walk my dogs I don't use the retractable leash, it seems to make things much worse. I would also try a leash training class (they offer them at pet stores here in the states not sure about over the pond). The harness that you use also seems to work better than a normal collar so that's good. It is hard though because one always seems to rile up the other. Mine are great until they see another dog or animal and then all hell breaks loose lol. It will also get better with time, they are young still so might just need to grow up a little. They are precious little ones, I hope your walks get a little easier!!

This is a condition only very few are born with, Pablo and Winstons eyes are not bulging, so they will take the same amount of force to pop out as a human eye (something like being run over by a car not a hug). A healthy pug shouldn't have bulging eyes so I wouldn't worry about this happening at all 😊.

Hey, I have two dogs (pug mix and terrier mix) and I have one lead in each hand. The pug mix has the shorter lead, because he will just walk alongside me. The terrier likes to stop and pee every twenty feet so I have her on the longer lead so she can pull ahead, stop, pee, and then catch up without me slowing down too much. If they wanna crisscross, you just change hands.
