3:45 yeah....i remember that.....i was around 6 years old....it give nightmare. 1 minute ago, you were playing a snake in a sandbox, eating fruit , burping, making funny noise...now you just see that poor snake being devoured alive, screaming in pain.... that is just great....

I'm a collector and got the mini-box version of AxySnake quite recently. Gotta say it kinda cracked me how they actually included the paper 3d glassed inside lmfao :,D The game was a classic for sure! I can tell how unpleasant it must have been to wait up for the time to run out in order to record that bit for the video...I was terrified of those monsters as a child haha!

A new TRG review pops up in the feed? Gotta watch that asap! Love discovering things from ya, and this is definitely one of those cases once again. Never heard of this, but it DEFINITELY has the same vibe as stuff like those late 90's 3D Frogger titles... and those were real fun in a simple kinda way. Not surprised Snake translated well to 3D with just a bit more thought put into fleshing out the design... really, it's more surprising this is the only time a 3D version of Snake has been done, now that you mention it :)

There were a bunch of 3D snake games, but they were either clones of AxySnake or just regular snake with 3D graphics. The only game that comes to mind that's a bit different is Snake Pass.

Thanks for the review :) I also have my "childhood 3d snake" game, but it's BoaBite 3D - and it's going in a bit different direction than AxySnake, since you're moving in closed area and can move in all directions. You goal is to collect enough points (by eating apples) and not collide with walls or any part of the snake (plus some "bonuses" which sometimes appear instead of apples - chilli which for a moment increases your speed and mushroom which makes view "floaty"). It's simple looking game, yet I love it.

Axysoft is such a great video game developer. They made other game instead of Axysnake like Azangara, Chroma Crash, MoneyMania, and more.

The reddish fruits remind me of the ones from another obscure game called Dino and Aliens. It was made by a Russian company called Nevosoft sometime in the early 2000s. They had since moved onto the mobile games market.
I tried to buy the registered version from the site in 2016 but I never got my activation key. I have recently acquired a mini CD and installed the full version that way. There are other enemies such as bees, beetles, and spiders in the later episodes which don't kill you but slow you down like the walls and eating rocks. There's also dragonflies which will pop the food items so you have to beat them to the food. I haven't really been able to figure out what all the powerups do. This game was also part of my childhood along with Airxonix, Absolutist games, RealArcade and Gamehouse games, etc.

You can probably imagine how much the monsters would scare me as a kid. Are they hedgehogs, the natural predators of snakes? Why do they sound like bears and look like disembodied Mickey Mouse heads?

this game is fire, too bad I can't register it :/ It was ahead of it's time with it's programming and performance (maybe except the "thunder" effect")

This looks familiar. Maybe becuase it could be on the same engine as the most of 2001 shovelware.
@ThatRatGuy5 жыл бұрын
AxySoft used the same engine across all of their games.

From them I've only played AirXoniX and SkyMaze, but I mean in 1999-2003 there were thousands of indies made directly (maybe) in D3DX.
