I know everything about the Seahawks and what they were doing before during and after the LoB and Beast Mode were there. No Russ, no Super Bowls in Seattle, and no consistent double-digit-win seasons, PERIOD! You hit the nail on the head. Both Hackett and Payton lied to Russ and the public when they claimed they would design an offense around Russ’s skill set. Mahomes has that, and it’s why he keeps winning. Throwing over the middle is like being a great free-throw shooter, and Russ is good at it when given the right protection and a body that can run a crisp slant or other middle route. Remember: not consistently hitting free throws didn’t stop Shaq or Wilt from being two of the five most dominant players in NBA history - the others were obviously Jordan, Magic and Kareem. Kobe and TD were both arguably better as players, but not dominant. Anyway, you get my point. Denver fans talk like they have great players. They don’t, and once Russ is with another squad, he will be himself again. A surprise team or two will bid on him.

I'm a Seattle fan who will always have a fond spot for Russell. He was a part of that amazing 2013 team and despite people saying the defense carried him, he was key in many situations that season that helped them win. He was a very, very good QB for awhile. But yeah, he's corny AF and seems way too concerned with his brand. The main reason Seattle moved on from him was the start of his decline plus knowing his very ruthless agent was going to demand a massive contract extension. Russ's team will never rework a contract to benefit a team. He's maximizing his income during his playing career. Period. I can't say I blame him, to be honest. And yes, the ultimate irony would be Wilson getting his second super bowl ring on Bronco money while playing elsewhere.

For more than two seasons I told all the Boys at the bar, "If I had to start a team with the best QB from scratch? I would pick Russel Wilson." Like, an expansion team? He did so many things well, besides throw the ball. He was very complete, like a Swiss Army knife. Watched a ton of his games. His decisions were great, and his runs were great.

I’ve heard some say that Russell is too reliant on his athleticism, and that his game was unlikely to age gracefully (unlike pocket passers like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady). So a massive contract extension with him would have inevitably been a huge albatross at some point; if not immediately like it was for Denver. Also, the media may treat Seattle like a smaller market than deserved, but I don’t know if Denver is one of the bigger markets?

13:33 - That sums up his entire Seahawks career, which is why most Hawks fans will usually joke about requiring a heart attack to win. EDIT: Geno's comeback record this year continues the required heart attack requirement.

When you need a clear and objective opinion on a story, it's astonishing how often you get it from its most hardcore, biased fans, rather than national media talking heads like Booger and RG3 and all of the rest of them. Perna is a gem. -- a random, biased, objective Chargers fan.

It's no secret that Russ is a man of faith. As a Christian myself, I appreciate Russ' courage for being unapologetically Christian knowing many people would clown him for it. That being said, i think he tries too hard to appear as someone who is faultless since that's how he thinks a Christian needs to be. He needs to own up more to his faults both on and off the football field and more ppl would take him seriously.

Real accountability isn't blaming others or blaming yourself. It's blaming the right source or sources, regardless if it's you or others. If it's not your teammates' fault, Russ, and if it's not your own fault or Payton's fault, then who's fault is it? We gotta answer that question in order to know where to start fixing things. If you're telling me everything is fine when it isn't, then the problem isn't gonna be solved.

The Steelers would be a perfect situation for Russ. They have a solid team and foundation. Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris can help take the load off of Russ and Arthur smith loves to run the ball and play action which suits his play style. Plus with Pickens, Johnson, friermuoth. Let Russ cook again.

When people put breaks on themselves for being bad, don't tell them to go back to being bad. I guarantee it won't just end at yelling at his teammates.

idk, i came up as a seahawks fan with russ, he has always been like this. if it is calculated then its an amazing job by him but i think this is just him and what he believes. I think he really just hates puuting out negativity and if thats at the expense of some peoppe not thinking he is "real" i dont think he cares. i think its unfare to say he hasnt put the blame on himself, idk whole thing just dosnt seem fare to the guy and i was one of the the hawks fans that hoped the broncos sucked with him

A hallmark of a mature Christian (and a great team player) is that he owns up to his faults instead of glossing over them or shifting the blame. When you lose, you maybe even shoulder some extra blame. When you win, you recognize the team instead of bragging on yourself. Easy to say; not so easy to do.

The Seattle Seahawks legion of boom was 7-9, 7-9, two years before Russ got there, and yet people credit them and not Russ for the Championship. That's interesting. It was Russell Wilson! What about Pete Carroll's bullshit called in the Superbowl. Even he gets a pass. Crazy. And Denver, Shea Payton is a joke. He is a head coach. Where does he get off benching a player at the end of a season who is still may be able to make the playoffs. He gets a pass as well. Again, that's just crazy to me.
