It can’t possibly be that hard to admit a player like Mahomes is good. I understand the concept of fandom, what I don’t understand is it being “difficult” to acknowledge there are great players on teams other than your personal favorite. Don’t get it. Like, it’s not “hard” for me to say I don’t like tha Stillers, their brand of “hurt people” defense, and REALLY don’t like their former star QBs off the field… actions. But they were a good football team. Not that difficult.

When you actually sit down and think about the roster as a whole year in and year out, its even more impressive. Pat has gone through 2 defensive rebuilded, a completely rebuilt oline, and outside of Mecole Hardman who missed like 75% of the season as the only returning WR from the previous season, he went through a completely rebuilt WR core, and 3 of the those WR were Big Ben, Rodgers, and Bradys throw aways. He won a Superbowl with 9 rookies taking significant snaps. He has been playing with below average defense his entire career as well. The even more crazy part is that he hasnt even hit his prime and is probably 2 or 3 seasons away from it.

I feel like too often people obsess over pure arm talent and the throws a guy can make when there’s so much more to playing the QB position, and then use Mahomes as an example of that. How many times have we heard someone praise a QB by saying “only Mahomes could make that kind of throw.” The question they should be asking is “would Mahomes make the throw in that situation”? What makes him special more so than his ability to make crazy throws is that he doesn’t have to make those throws to beat you. But every once in a while some defense is going to forget why they’re playing that two high safety defense and go out of it, and he’ll remind you why you play that.

What makes him so very unique is he's done this from his very first game, which was against Denver in the final game of the 2017 season, has won the west 5 times consecutively (Chiefs have won the division 7 in a row), has played in 5 AFC Championship games...at Arrowhead, played in three SB, won two SB, won 2 MVP's while winning 2 SB MVP'S, the only player in NFL history to lead the NFL in pass yardage, in TD's, in total amount of yds, win the MVP while winning the SB MVP. Not bad for only playing 5 seasons.

Brandon, us Chiefs fans had to watch Elway rip our hearts out for years. We had to watch Elway dance in the end zone at Arrowhead. But its more than that. The Chiefs still have one of the worst franchise playoff records in NFL history, even with the last few years of doing so well. We had to watch the Broncos go to Super Bowl after Super Bowl, despite The Chiefs winning 10+ games every season. We had to watch our most beloved coach choke in the playoffs every year. All we have in KC are the Royals and Chiefs. Denver has a hockey, NBA, MLB, and an NFL team. To pour salt on the wound, we had to watch Colorado get a fifth down to beat Mizzou. For years, YEARS, Colorado teams would beat Missouri teams in heartbreaking fashion. We are not the same. We are owed this.....

The 2 losses in the AFC Championship games were because Dee Ford lined up a yard offsides against the Patriots and the D-Line couldn't tackle Joe Burrow. I literally told them, “the entire NFL better HOPE that he gets exposed, because if they find out that Mahomes does not need elite receivers to get the job done, they can flush all of that money to the defensive side of the ball.” Lone behold, the chiefs won the Super Bowl, and now the chiefs know they do not need to spend 24 million on a receiver.

I did a QB deep dive earlier in the offseason and found that, according to the metrics I used, Patrick Mahomes has been better relative to his peers than any quarterback with at least 16 career games except Otto Graham, which is completely insane given the enormous difference between the league environments when Graham played and now. I think there are two main scenarios for how the human highlight reel plays as he ages. The first is that Andy Reid and Travis Kelce both retire within a relatively short span, and without the presence of those two (whom I consider at the moment the 3rd-best and best to ever do their respective jobs), Mahomes' limited mobility and lack of supporting cast/coaching presence reveal gaping flaws in his game, to the point where he's washed by the time he's 34 or 35 if the injury bug doesn't take him sooner. Still probably gets into the Hall though, with two MVPs, two rings, and two SBMVPs to his name already. The second scenario is the better one, where-like Tom Brady-Mahomes becomes more creative, smarter, and a better reader of plays as he gets older, to the point where it doesn't matter the quality of team or staff surrounding him, he will still find ways to win. Brady was so infuriating late in his career because he'd find ways to dink and dunk around the field with 7-yard screens and out routes that just somehow worked every time. We saw a little of that development with Mahomes last year, in the absence of Tyreek Hill, and I'm hoping as a Chiefs fan we see more of that again this year in the absence of Eric Bieniemy. In this latter case, again barring injury, he's able to adjust his own play style as his physical capabilities decline, and he retires as one of the most successful QBs of all time around the age of 40. Aaron Rodgers is another good comp here, given he recently won back-to-back MVPs in his age 37 and 38 seasons and is one of the all-time best quarterbacks in terms of passer rating, completion percentage, and interception ratio-all things Mahomes also excels at currently-and even though he declined a little bit last year, he'll probably play a couple seasons with the Jets and retire a surefire Hall of Famer from a statistical standpoint at 41 or 42. TL;DR Barring serious injury or other catastrophe, Patrick Mahomes is probably already Canton-bound regardless of how well he adjusts to changes around him, as his resume will allow him to stay in the league well into his 30s even if his skills decline sharply.

I hope you understand we lived through bad quarterbacks such as Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac, Tyler Thigpen, Brodie Croyle, and Matt Cassell before Mahomes came along. We lived through Jon Elway beating the Chiefs for many years.

Dude, as a Chiefs fan(digging the collabs with HBTC, BTW), this was one of the most fun videos to watch. I remember hating the shit out of you guys during the Manning days, but always loved Manning myself. But, you put this together wish enough facts, anguish, admiration, and hatred to balance out perfectly. Already sharing this one all over.

Hilarious video, love the humor and colorful language. Some other football KZbin channels would be better if they added some cussing. Hometown Chiefs fan here but spent 5 years in Denver so I love that city and those people too. Keep up the great work. You got a new subscriber here.

I remember a comment about how Patrick Mahomes was gonna get exposed after Tyreek left. And the only thought in my head was that people always love to act like a team gives the QB the ability to drop bombs (prime example being the browns a few years ago). I predicted that Mahomes would win the Super Bowl and it’s crazy this man has made it half the years he’s played and every starting season, he made it to the AFC championship game and lost in close games if he didn’t win.

The first time I saw how weird and devoid of fundamental form Patrick can throw the ball at times just to make a play, I said “his longevity is questionable if he keeps throwing with these awkward motions he’s gonna go to sidearm it and get smashed after the release and it’ll be gruesome and he’ll never be the same”…. That seemed like a legitimate take, until I watched him win a Super Bowl after refusing treatment on an ankle injury taken in game, or when he killed in post season against the browns with turf toe etc….. he is unexpectedly durable despite his unorthodox way of playing. Dude got a first down for his team on a 4th down scrambling with a fucked up foot 🤷 what can I even say about him now. He is almost too likable to be a villain but just despicable enough to not be a hero. He is the NFLs Deadpool he is the anti-hero.

The Kansas City Chiefs have won Super Bowl 57! It was the entire team and of course I f'in love PM15 and every one of the men who strap on the red and gold every season. I will watch every wretched Tik Tok from his entire family and leave rude comments they definitely deserve, if it keeps the rage going. PM15 takes notes and he's petty.🏆💍

This video is funny. The reason I hate the Broncos to this day more than any other team is because of John Elway. He burned the Chiefs for so many years, but I had respect for how good he was. That rivalry has stuck with me to this day. I love seeing the Chiefs beat the Broncos. I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts, because it never does. Great channel. Great content. Thanks for posting!
