I'm not a theatre kid so I'm basically a complete stranger when it comes to this stuff. I went to my first broadway show today though and decided to look a bit into theatre. Honestly, I'd say that theatre kids are the most outgoing and confident group of people I've ever seen. It especially stands out to me because it's hard to tell whether each individuals are just hyperactive like that or if it's the setting that really brings forth that energy (I mean, if you're gonna be a musical actor, you gotta be willing to sing, dance and act in ways you normally wouldn't) It's theaters, so there's no room for being too shy, not wanting to be too loud, not wanting to stand out too much. Once again, I really know nothing about the actual experience of being in a musical but it honestly looks like something that could bring out the best in someone.

But there is more....we also have the craziest inside jokes you can only understand if you were in the musical, the directors telling you to project onstage but when you are whispering in the wings you are "way too loud", extreme post-closing night depression and HONEY. (you get it if you're a theater kid). Also that magical feeling when your director accidentally says a word from the show and you all start singing and it sounds amazing even though there is no music and you're all just having fun.
