100% they just sampled it and re-pitched it to sound closer to her voice. The same thing happened to me when Utada Hikaru confirmed it was a choir doing the into to her song “Goodbye Happiness” - it blew my mind and still does years later 😝

I always thought she had never used a sample in her career, but I was wrong. Nonetheless, I think she used these samples wisely and created totally different songs. (Sorry for my bad english). If you listen to sample from most of the main artists around the world, they sound exactly the same, the sample and the other song.

Stupid Love didn’t actually sample that song, they both used the same royalty-free vocal sample. A similar thing happened with Judas. People thought Gaga ripped off another artist’s song, but it turned out that they had just used the same free-to-use sample.

For Venus, the track made by Zombie Zombie is already a sample of Sun Ra’s «Rocket number 9». For Rain on Me, I wasn’t able to recognize the sample used 😅 Now I hear it, but it’s really subtil. It was the same for Replay, wasn’t able to recognize it before Replay played, but now it’s so abvious that I feel a bit ashamed 😅
