Moon has quite a lot to look at outside the map. Firstly, it's one of the only maps with two distinct playable areas, leading to some interesting mechanics to explore. Plus who hasn't always wondered what's in those Area 51 hangers or wanted to take a leap on the surface of the Moon??

When you use the Gersh device on the rocket map, that same paper changes depending on the amount of zombies. This implies that the Gersh device is sending them there, and not killing them. It was a funny EE.

2 Facts: 1. in the OG moon, when no clipping to the moon from Area 51, the skybox doesn’t change and the gravity/ no oxygen mechanic doesn’t work either It seems that the teleportation activated them. 2. The OG moon section of the OG map has moved. It used to be just behind the teleporter hanger .

YO I remember no clipping on moon back on the Xbox 360 and your spot on. Wonder why they changed it up for things the average player never sees

@@Werk4Cash I don’t know why the gravity/oxygen is toggled by the teleporter but the reason for the map moving is probably because back then the consoles only had a limited area for the map to go but with the newer consoles they had the ability to move the map further away.

Personally moon is very favorite aesthetic wise. It's easily the coolest looking map, and even though I'm not a huge fan of the map's gameplay, I'll definitely hop on some moon just to appreciate the visuals

Those big "excavators" are called bucket wheels and yes they are real they were used in mining they don't get use very much anymore they primarily use electric shovels now adays

I remember last year sometime I was playing with a mod menu on this map and I somehow glitched it out to where I was suffocating and floating around in area 51, and then able to breathe and walk normally on the moon. It was something to do with a specific feature of the mod I was using where if I went out of bounds I would be tp’d back into the playable map, and at one point I was tp’d from the out of bounds on the moon all the way back to area 51, which im pretty sure is what broke the game. Its just an interesting system they have where going between 2 areas of a map changes the physics and makes the player take a space suit on and off

Fun fact: The mushroom cloud at 39:24 is actually a result of the rocket hitting nuketown. As we know, nuketown zombies and moon took place at the same time, and both are set (at least the Area 51 portion of moon) in Nevada. So both locations are pretty much a couple of miles away from each other, close enough to see the result of one of the 115 rockets.
