Ditto. The clarity is actually awe inspiring. I have listened to many talks by Ajahn Jayasaro. If Ajahn Jayasaro is a spiritual lion I would not liken myself to a mouse or an ant but I do know it is a blessing just to be near the lion. You cannot quantify how much good a person like this is doing in the World. I am far from perfect but also know I am a fairly decent person. And all the more decent for listening to people like Ajahn Jayasaro who with no doubt is a teacher to me.

Thank you so much for explaining meditation in such CLEAR terms Ajahn Jayasaro 🙏 🙏 🙏 I think meditation - especially meditation - has to be explained in clear terms, because teachers can't see what is going on in our minds. A regular teacher or coach, say in high school or on the sports field, can see what the student is doing wrong and correct it - but meditation teachers can't see what's going on inside your head. A meditation teacher relies on the student themselves to bring their issues and questions to the teacher, and not all students are capable of doing that, and not all students have access to meditation teachers who can explain things clearly. A meditation teacher relies on the student to be able to accurately recount what is going on in their minds to them, and not all people are able to accurately put this into words or to voice their problems - so unfortunately, some people give up this important practice of meditation.

Appreciating this dhamma talk and thinking in terms of experience of person who had experienced unkind or ignorant treatment despite being good intentional and well behaved. And yes it had impact on my mind over time. One of situation can be brushed of if we are generally in company well mannered people, but constant mistreatment is taxing on health. Unfortunately we have to live in world of forms, and that means in categories people created and social conventions, which are not easy for everyone. Diversity of human experience and form is huge and that was often attempted to supress or deny. A lot of work was done to create more diverse inclusive society, but a lot is to be still done to make living for all filled with less suffering due to the things are now. I understand the training is of a mind not to suffer appearance of the situations we may see as discriminatory, as they often are, but if there is not a complaint, not a word spoken, not a notion of disagreement with certain treatment, it will not change the conventions for others who may be confronted with the similar behaviour. It is not as much about me or self as about simple human decency and respect for the human experience in that particular body, name, nationality, ability or disability, status etc. I think and I see it since a child that world has old fashioned prejudices still live and well, passed from generation to other, which may try to change them for better or worse. The goodness is a hero, and it is great note in world saturated with cynicism and ridicule of moral, well intentioned life and actions. We are definitely making more intelligent life when we nurture the kindness, love, attention to others, care, honesty. Is this prized and nurtured by current system? People get treated as pushovers, someone to jump over, make fun off, scapegoated or even bullied, gaslighted just because playing fair. That is my experience from at least mid thirties. And I know it has to do with my age, gender, nationality, status, disregarding the work, the goodness and care I contributed. It may not be experience of others who bought in the competitive, ruthless system and its expectations. However, where can we, who want to do good go from there? Inside the caves? It is not possible for many. There seams to be still lack of monasteries for women even in Buddhist community in Europe/West, as one possible options. Unless we try to change the societal prejudices, as we are on some fronts (disability, mental health, LGBTQ+, religious harmony), we are still allowing suffering of some people, by sticking to old ways written and maybe suitable millennia's ago. And that requires some protests, some annoyance of the current conventions. Otherwise one generation passes, and we miss the opportunity to adjust this samsara world of forms to create more goodness, less suffering and develop the collective mind of humanity and prepare path towards more aware, realised, conscious and buddha like society. I hope it is not heretical to Buddhists, but this is a conclusion of person who is learning how different approaches are in our varied cultures. And trying to see how to lead the life better, not getting overwhelmed by prevailing bully culture here.

one thing really impressive to me: the other younger monk sits there completely still as a statue through out the whole 40 minutes... damn. This was a particularly inspiring and useful discussion for me as well.
