Thayrin's real Endwalker Ending

Not perfect but done.
Sorry for disappearing for a while. This was the reason. I started it just after I finished the Main Endwalker MSQ. It has taken me forever to do. I do hope folks enjoy.
Now the panic grind to set up for Dawntrail begins.

i feel like at this point, the WoL has severe depression and PTSD. someone else pointed this out to me but during win animations for dungeons, they dont do the victory pose anymore. they just put their weapons back. like they're sad they cant keep fighting or tired that their job is done for now. it's one of the reasons why i always wanted to answer to Zenos with "FCK YES I LOVE TO FIGHT" cause quiet moments would bring crushing despair to the WoL while they love to explore and see new things, i think it's come to be more of a distraction than a calling. and while yes, the journey has certainly been good and worthwhile, cant help but feel there are some major regrets along the way.

I know the DRK quests and the Fordola plot sort of deal with this, but I've been saying for a while now that they really need a true MSQ plot point of the WoL dealing with all the trauma they've dealt with over the past decade. I mean, if the best we've gotten is the WoL effectively weaponizing dissociative identity disorder there's definitely some room there for it.

@@1337penguinman my concern is if EW was meant to be the cover of it. how the WoL will always keep walking no matter how hard it is to do so. the entire final act of EW (i'm talking 6.0 and not 6.1 onwards) is how the WoL shall not be broken by despair no matter how great it is. no matter how much their soul hurts they will keep walking. which to me feels.... childish? like i love the plot of EW and how it characterises WoL, but still. that feels very simplistic. plus, in game it's been like.... 3? years, taking into account boat travel time. thats a lot of shit to deal with in just 3 years.

@@godsplayingfield How is that childish? That's actually how we deal with it in real life, how we manage to get out of depression. Yeah, despairs is there, it is great... but we got keep walking otherwise the only awnser would be death. And while we keep walking we eventually find bouts of happines, and understand how to control, dimish despair. Thats the whole theme of endwalker and specially the end of the MSQ with meteion understanding that there will be sorrow but also hapiness, that one could not exist without another.

My buddy had his character canonically die there. My main character lost his best friend. So yeah, i know the feel.

Really great animation! I love it when players show how traumatized their WoL gets after everything that happened. My WoL used to be a very kind and selfless hero, after the events of EW my WoL had to rehab from almost dying and retreated to take care of her Island. With her adoptive brother they both took on jobs as retainers until she was approached with a new adventure (Post EW). As of Dawntrail, my WoL has PTSD from Elpis and actively works on bettering Ultima Thule (Omicorn and Loporrit Society Quests). She also started a free company which focuses on helping others.

Ohhh this hurt and healed my heart all at once. After 90 levels of loss, there's a point where even with all the reassurance and love from friends, you still gotta let it out.

The way the armour moves in your animation kind of looks like wayang (shadow puppet) it's really cool!

I used several different techniques to make this. Puppet rigs were most certainly part of that process. ^.^

I felt this video. My character took a solid 3 weeks to just grieve before doing anything else. She is normally a very loving, happy person, but even her coffeeshop couldn't bring her joy. She has some spark back, but she cannot deny there is a significant backlog of trauma to start processing. I suppose if it wasn't for her allies, she couldn't very well compartmentalize until the next downtime. Dawntrail has to be a breath of fresh air for her. She needs it.
