Killer motor. I'm jealous that these 351C were only in the US cars for a short period of time. That makes spare parts and aftermarket support pretty dismal here. Most of whats out there for old fords is for the windsor motors, or the 429/460. Every time I see you guys with one of these Aussi cars, I notice something else that's backwards. It was bad enough seeing the brake booster under the hood on the right side. Then I saw one with the stick shift under the driver's left hand instead of their right. And now in this one, I see the shift indicators for the automatic column shift are backwards. Its supposed to be PNRD21, but yours goes from 1 to P. Is nothing sacred!!!!

Man, yella Terra Heads and Mick Webb are words I haven't heard for a very long time ! Sadly Mick Passed away, but he was a legend when it came to Engines back in the 80s and 90. I Still have all my street machine mags from that Era and you can see the advertisements in there for his performance shop he had going then. Super days they were. It's sad how so many speed shops have disappeared over time. Brad's Speed shop was a big name here in Sydney among many others.

I totally understand your nervousness! I love building engines but I only do it as a hobby. I dont make money at it. They are always my persanal engines. But I get nervous everytime I start a new one. I dont even like to have more than one person around. Someone to watch for leaks & help adjust timing if needed & me running controls & guages. Outside of that people are only a distraction. I always fear a bad noise, wonder if I forgot anything, did I measure correctly, did I double check everything? And you even have a camara rolling you are paying attention to as well! I think if I did videos, I might fake it? Maybey do the break in off camera & when im satisfied everything is good, lights, camera, action! Hello guys, im guna do the break in today & you all get to come along! Lol!

Before you start new engine, and before you put dizzy in you could run the oil pump with 8mm 1/4 drive deep socket and extension with a drill, from memory put drill in reverse, what this does is it primes engine with oil, pumps oil everywhere before you start engine so you should have oil pressure from word go, she sounds nice bro!!! Oh makes sure you tape socket to extension before you lose it down the engine go slowly with drill too

Hey Clevo brothers, you mention a motor sitting around for 20 years that you would recommend attention to detail, does this necessarily mean rebuilding it. What I’ll like to ask if the motor has been rebuild for example, rings and bearings , water pump, timing chain, gaskets etc. if you have stored it for 20 years, what would be your main concerns be to just getting it started? What would this involve in this scenario? By the way the ute sounds great 👍

G'day mate, being an owner of a "Frankenstein" Cleveland I have been watching your videos. I am here in the U.S. and was wondering if it is worth rebuilding a set of U.S. spec 2V heads for a daily driver?
@thclevoking4 жыл бұрын
They are not bad the open chamber 2v is growing with popularity over here for street motors. They work great when combined with a modern cam grind and allot intake. Plenty of 400hp engines around running open chamber 2v heads. The alloy heads are so cost effective for making more power not guys slip past the iron in favour of weight gains and a better combustion chamber design.

@@thclevoking Thanks, I have an Edlebrock RPM manifold and was looking at CompCam 212/218 duration @ 050 lift and .486/.493 lift LSA 110. Something for low end torque and smooth idle for a truck.

There isn’t really a defining moment but we do feel that they free up after about 15-20 minutes and then they run a lot smoother.

What year of a Falcon is that? Is the Falcon the Fox Body platform in Australia?

1981 it’s much larger then a fox body but the design inspiration came from the Granada in the UK I think.

The myth of " breaking a cam in" is due to poor lifter design. The amount of oil getting to the camshaft should be more and the only way to overcome this inherited design flaw is to flute the lifters. There is also a myth around piston ring break in which if a piston ring is set properly should stay at those clearances for the life of a motor. If you check out a "worn block" you will note that the bores with the most amount of wear are the cylinders closest to the water pump, and the cylinders with almost no wear are furthest from the pump. Like I have said earlier you guys have a lot to learn about these engines. When they are treated properly they purr like a kitten and produce bags of torque and horsepower.
@waynecera44222 жыл бұрын
clive steinlake of clive cams in melbourne has always refaced my new lifters with a bigger radius as all lifter manufactures seem to be grinding an inefficient radius with leads to poor lifter rotation and poor oiling on the mating surfaces.
@1darryloflife2 жыл бұрын
@@waynecera4422 Do you understand what "fluting " the lifter means?
