Interesting video. The study of intermodulation distortion is also very interesting. Thanks.

Is there a standard input amplitude for measuring THD?

Sir, can you please share the details about your dummy load?

Hi there, did you put together any schematics for your Gemtune 300B amp ? Just bought the Laochen 300B, which is the same amp, and plan some circuit modifications. Best regards, Magnus, Sweden

I really wanted to watch the entire video. But the continuous movement of the camera just make me headache. Btw you should always set the vertical scale in the scope so that the waveform fits the whole screen. this would get better precision in the ADC..

They had the Keithley 2015 refurbs at parts connexion on sale for 356 with 20% off that day so I grabbed one. I still use my HP8903 but these units sold for like 4k when new. Great videos BTW. Thanks.

Great video, would be nice to see a video on transient speed / distortion. Curious as to what components in an amplifier are responsible for fast transient response. As far as I can tell push-pull circuts should be good at this?. Also it seems the speaker cone design plays an important role in transient reproduction. I can imagine this being the main reson why things sound clear or muddy.

So is an AMP rated at 5000 .5 % thd or 1% thd better?
@nirajmathur60092 жыл бұрын
0,5% THD is better - lower the THD the better

you can get a 2015thd for a couple hundred bucks. I got one for 180 from an offer on ebay. I like it
@stereopolice5 жыл бұрын
Great. Also, it's a good idea to have it calibrated.
@easyamp1235 жыл бұрын
Do you recommend a place to get it calibrated? I don’t know much about getting things calibrated
@stereopolice5 жыл бұрын
@@easyamp123 Yeah, I'll go take a look in a bit where mine was calibrated - I forget, but there's a sticker on it. I'll get back to you.

stereopolice thankyou for your time! Do you recall about how much it costs?
@daksheshsharma34106 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with 1% thd most sound systems out there today have 10% thd you can hardly hear a hiss at Max volume with an amp with 1%thd I don't see 1%thd as horrendous
@stereopolice6 жыл бұрын
1% is not that horrendous. For many fine sounding tube amps, 1% or close to it is the norm. 10% on the other hand, I'd be bothered by.

you should use this to see how terrible those "500w peak" little HiFi systems from Walmart are

Information was well done but 1% distortion is a bit demanding.The presentation could have better as the video was distracting with the jerky movements.
