Are there really a lot of Californians that moved there? We're planning to sell our 500+ acre ranch here in TX because it's been ruined especially just in the last 4-5 years. My husband's 4th gen rancher since the late 1800s and we're selling the ranch to get away from the madness here in TX.

That’s a great area as well. I spent five years in Knoxville and really enjoyed it. It was just too much of a college town for me though so I needed to get over to Nashville.

I like the smaller towns out on the highland rim, like Springfield, Pleasant View, Ashland City, Fairview, and Dickson.

Those are great little towns. I need to take a ride up to Springfield and Ashland City and do some exploring.

Anywhere in Williamson county is great for people with School age kids looking for Top school district and low taxes. We moved here 11 years ago in 2013. Our kids did extremely well in school. One in Top 5 engineering college and the other headed there soon. Home value tripled in that time. Property taxes low.
@Matt.Bogosian2 ай бұрын
Wow that is great! Yes, I think you’re right about Williamson County. It’s just such a great place to raise a family. I feel so fortunate that I am able to live here.

Do the schools in Thompsons Station teach kids about credit cards, balancing budgets, investing for retirement? Asking as I was looking to get me real estate license and go to Brentwood area but I'm not a fan of big cities either? Also, is now a good time to become a realtor with home prices tanking & the situation with the NAR?
@Matt.Bogosian6 ай бұрын
You know, I’m actually not really sure about the credit cards, budgeting, and investing. I’m gonna ask my oldest son, and ask around to some people that I know. It’s probably not a great time if you are already having negative thoughts about the profession and the housing market. This is a very hard business to be in with a lot of ups and downs. You can’t let those types of things deter you from putting your head down, doing the work, and getting results for your clients. Some years will be better than others and there will be obstacles to overcome and competition. But isn’t that in every profession?

Definitely not Murfreesboro because traffic is nuts. Plus property is outrageous and there is to many Florida and Illinois plates.

Yeah traffic is pretty bad in Murfreesboro. I think it’s still a nice place to live but definitely not the beat.

I am also a floridian moving to Estill Springs, TN. Florida is too crowded. I'm more of a mountain person than a beach person. I lived 20 yrs in alaska and loved it, but it is very expensive. Tennessee's conservative government is also a huge draw for me.
@davesravens473 ай бұрын
Thompson station is solid but there’s several decent towns in Tennessee. But with everyone like myself trying to get away from the crowded coasts, we’ve ironically made Tennessee a little to crowded for my liking. Maybe I’ll just go to Alaska lol.
@Matt.Bogosian3 ай бұрын
I agree it is definitely starting to get a little bit crowded. I wish that some of these smaller towns that were further out would evolve a little bit and become better places to live. Unfortunately, in my opinion, these towns and cities really start to go downhill once you get past about 45 minutes away from Nashville.
@davesravens473 ай бұрын
@@Matt.Bogosian that’s unfortunately kinda true.

We moved to Tennessee four years ago. We rejected Thompson station and purchased a very nice house in Hendersonville. Hendersonville has a lake. Our boat and Waverunner on Old Hickory are 10 minutes from our house. Thompson Station does not have a lake. The closest is Percy Priest which I believe is at least 30 minutes away is not further. The very best cities in Tennessee have a lake.
@Matt.Bogosian3 ай бұрын
If having a lake is your top priority then Thompson’s station would not be a good fit for you. in my experience having a lake directly in the city or town you live in is not a huge priority for most people. Most people come to me looking for great schools, a small town feel, close proximity to good shopping and dining, close to good healthcare, and a tight knit community with good values. Thompson’s Station delivers all those things.
@landanwoodard75692 ай бұрын
@@Matt.Bogosian Hendersonville has that too. Awesome Authentic Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Pizza, Hot chicken, Steak and BBQ. Schools and a small town feel. I'm 3 minutes from a boat ramp and old hickory dam, about 4-5 minutes from the interstate and about 20 minutes to Nashville.
@Matt.Bogosian2 ай бұрын
I agree Hendersonville is a great city. I think the proximity to Franklin makes Thompson's Station a better choice though.
