You how many zip lock bags full of connect’s bolts. I like your way of storing them. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your holidays 🏁

That's pretty much what we had to try and separate our bolts, but definitely not ideal. I bought these small parts organizers a couple years ago when they were on clearance to bring in the new model. Super cheap at the time

@@RacingAndrewLee has to be done. Probably take a good 10 minutes to look for right size bolt. Also how do you organize your tierods or radius rods. I just got them in tool box with hiems installed to keep them somewhat assembled. Just getting ideas how to store them or hang them on the wall. Keep up the good work

@@Eastendhunter9 there’s some people who make organizer plates for the rods so that you can get them measured up properly and ready to go. Otherwise, I keep mine in a bin of spares right now. All of my spare are strictly to get the car back on the trailer though and not necessarily to get back out of the track

Could you show/ explain the differences in the chassis as it has evolved over the years? I would be interested to better understand the design that causes the bending/ high stressed bolts. Thanks
@RacingAndrewLee Жыл бұрын
The bolts that see the most stress on the chassis are going to be the two trailing arm bolts that connect to the chassis. On older chassis, the bolt would take all of the stress anytime the car would spin or go backwards. USLCI modified the chassis a little while ago to add a double shear point for the trailing arm bolts so that the weight is spread more evenly across the bolt rather than where the heim joint sits on the threads. Grade 5 bolts are still a type of hardened bolt, but less hardened than the Grade 8 equivalent. Although the Grade 8 can handle a higher tensile strength than the Grade 5 has, there is less room for the Grade 8 bolt to reach a catastrophic failure than the Grade 5 has.

Thanks! Do you know if there are upgrade kits for older chassis? Are there any other improvements that can be made to prevent bending during a simple spin. I would understand a bend during impact but not a spin. I am looking to rebuild an older chassis, building for durability.

@@jeremysarver5094 your local dealer for these should have all the double shear tabs you would need. There are also a couple dealers that sell kits online. The spins don’t necessarily bend the bolts, they just weaken them from the stress that is placed on them when it happens.

I'll definitely change put the bolts in my off-season prep

For sure! You never know how close these bolts can be to letting go. They’re so simple to replace that it would cost less to replace than it would to wreck after your bolt snapping
