I'm able to get an avg solution for almost every single problem. I understand the approach for every problem and I can easily visualize it, Whether it's hard or easy, but I really have issues to code them down. ☠️

I feel like I am very slow in terms of thinking out a solution and coding it up. Yes, I know people need to think out before they write their code but it just feels like I spend too much time than is needed. I think since I got layed off one of the factors was also because I was too slow to code up projects (not explicitly stated but I think that is one of the causes) Do you think these things are correlated?

How much do you recommend looking at a solution if you can't solve it versus coming back to the problem a few days later, and looking at solutions after the fact?

Good stuff. Did you ever stop practicing to go learn theory on e.g. combinatorials as you said, or did you just hammer solutions until you had the concepts down intuitively?
@topswe2 ай бұрын
I only learned the bare minimum to solve problems. Just solve problems, and if you don’t know the theory, learn it. Now you can solve all the problems involving that topic. (Ie. stars and bars) No point in over studying topics that will never come up if you’re focussed on improving at leetcode only.

Literally in 4 years of B tech started with Leetcode again and again and again. But Failed every single time. So, first now I am only working on basics. That's all acc. to me the stronger you are at basics the better you are at problem solving. If you don't even know what a tree is a what a graph is then how you'll solve questions on it

You have talked about some math concepts and such, so then for devs that are not from math background , just learnt from online bootcamps. How much of math or what math topics need to learnt then ? Everyone tend to think that all devs from math background but that's not, so can you speak on this. The difficulties, and correct approach for non-math background devs to dsa

I stopped leetcode because it is indeed difficult I have this moral principle too about true understanding vs memorization, I don't even understand Big O notation like O(nlogn) lmao, I think im gonna read that grokking's algorithm book.

How much time do you spend on Leetcode? Is it clear to you that the time could have been better spent? I assume you think about this sometimes. Like let’s say in the time you solved the last 1000 problems, you instead built a significant software project, or made progress towards learning a whole other skillset eg data science or cooking

@@topswe saw your substack post about presale but couldn’t find any links or mention of it about there. Regarding the the format and pricing(my 2c): Format: could be mixture of videos(covering concepts and patterns) coupled with article style content like grokking. Pricing: it’s your call being the service provider and educator. But looking at the other leading market players like Neetcode, Algoexpert(not much popular now), Design gurus etc. it can be a monthly subscription model or one off payment for lifetime membership for early users of annual subscriptions. Study the market a bit and focus on providing quality educational content, you can easily take over this market segment. Love your vids, appreciate the work. Good luck brother 🚀
