The Boba U4T thocky tactile switch by Gazzew are some of the best tactile switches for your custom mechanical keyboard, if you're looking for a strong bump. They're a great value at about $0.60 per switch, and you don't need to lube or film them. These are my top choice out of all the tactile switches I've tried (kiwi, T1, glorious panda, holy pandas, ergo clears, halo clears, browns), but I'm still Team Linear.

@@hypnoticlizard9693 zealios v2s have a sharper bump than the boba u4t, so it depends on whether you prefer a rounder bump, or a sharper one. zealios v2s are also much more expensive

These shorts are perfect for my short attention span! All the info without the fluff. Just picked up the boba U4T and are surprisingly great stock but still decided to lightly lube the rails and top housing to reduce the really high pitch up stroke. And filmed them anyway to add ever so slightly lower pitch thock. Probably just a placebo. The tactility seems very similar to the T1. Overall a fantastic switch!

the u4s silent tactiles are more my thing I love the silence of it and kinda asmr sound it gives off and when it’s lubed damn it’s so fucking silent.But I needa ask this question anyways cause it’s what I’d mainly use a keyboard for,are the u4Ts good for gaming?

I believe any switches are fine for gaming, comes down to preference. I can play games on U4Ts, but I prefer linear switches overall, especially for gaming cause I don’t want to work my fingers too hard if I have to double tap or something

They are the best ever. Lube makes them silent and smoother but they are about as good either way.

At first i wanted to buy durock T1, but literally at the last minute my local distributor stocked a bunch of bobas and i immediately switched gear i bought boba u4t instead. Definitely an endgame switch contender 👍

I like the 62g but it’s all preference. 68g will be heavier to press down on, and may have a snappier return on the upstroke due to a stronger spring

they're the same stem, the u4 has rubber on the stem to make it silent, which may make the u4t "feel" more tactile. what it comes down to is: do you need a silent switch? if so, get the u4. if not, get the u4t

Anyone have a good idea/explanation of how these compare to something like Hako Royal Trues? And Holy Pandas? Looking for thocky, rounded-bump tactile recommendations, and I’ve only had experience with Hako Royal True and Cherry MX Brown lol. I’ll definitely keep bobas in mind since you say they’re fine in stock form (less hassle!)

Mode Eighty with which plate? I have the default alu plate and the stacked mount makes it so stiff. Thinking of getting pc or pom

Aluminum. The stack mount does make it stiff, but I’ve used stiffer keyboards. I’ve seen folks cut the bottom gasket for more flex on solder PCB, not sure if it’ll work on the hotswap PCB. The Pom plate gave me a lot of issues.

For me, yes. The Dark Jades have a stronger downwards bumps and upstroke, which makes them too tactile for me. The price of U4T also makes them way more attractive.

How do they compare to Zealios V2 switches? Those are by far my current favorite, since the bump is so sharp and immediate.

The Zealios v2 are sharper and more immediate--the bump on the U4T starts high up as well but the tactile feeling is more rounded

I bought some but honestly I don't see the value. Now I just have expensive switches lying around in a bag. I'd recommend just buying (when you can) and testing different things that sound or feel great for you

Idk if you tried them lubed, but using the Gazzew way he recommended to lube, I really like the sound a lot.
