In Revelation Chapter 16 we see that armies assemble at Armageddon before they destroy the “great city” (Rev. 16:16,19) Now, Armageddon is just a few miles away from Jerusalem. If Babylon is Rome or New York City, why would the armies be gathering near Jerusalem? This is strong evidence that the “great city” called “Babylon” in chapter 16 is actually Jerusalem.

Revelation 17:4 describes the attire of the harlot woman/city. She “was arrayed in scarlet and purple and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup.” This is very similar to the Jewish priests’ attire as described at length in Exodus 28.

In Revelation, Babylon is a city, but it is also portrayed as an adulterous woman… a harlot. It is called “the mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” (Rev. 17:5) Ancient Babylon was a wicked place, but by the time that John wrote Revelation, it was an inconsequential town. It certainly was no longer a “great city”. So we need to consider this question: Was there any other first century “great city” that could be accused of spiritual adultery? Anyone familiar with the Old Testament knows the answer to that question… over and over again God accused Jerusalem of whoredom. “See how the faithful city (Jerusalem) has become a harlot…” (Isa. 1:21) “ …you have played the harlot, forsaking your God. You have loved the harlot’s wages on every threshing floor.” (Hosea 9:1) Revelation describes how God would soon pour out his wrath on the harlot-city that He symbolically calls “Babylon”. Jerusalem was that harlot-city.

This is spot on. My prayer life was non-existent for years. When I realized I needed to make a practice of prayer, I had a lot of strongholds and wrong thinking I had to fight through before I found myself in His presence. Now I just jump right in! It must become a daily practice to rest in the arms of the Father. He loves us so much!! If you're having trouble praying because you're battling condemnation and shame, find verses that speak truth about who you are in Christ. Claim them over your life and your thoughts, and enter into His presence through prayer! It'll become your favorite part of the day!❤

In my addiction I was never present with God, i only wanted fleshly things. It wasn't until I fully surrendered when I started feeling peace. And I started focusing on God more and my mind started clearing I could hear God's word a lot easier. My life started lining back into place God had originally intended for me.

Being reunited with my family I been so distracted and I don't have a set routine. Now I'm doing my best to make time for prayer because when I don't pray it just throws my days off I don't feel like myself I don't know how to describe it. I know how you feel... I've been crying everyday for several years, had a lot taken from me, I'm broken also... I saw a video the other day that says that God 'prunes' us... he cuts off old parts of us that aren't leading to Him... and that can be very painful and we can feel broken... but the new regrowth leads us back to God and revives us... so see all your pain and brokenness as autumn leaves falling away and when spring comes... you will regrow and rejoice in God Jesus Christ Holy Ghost... love and blessings to you... always and amen.

My distractions have utterly consumed so much of my life. I confess that i have placed desires of the flesh above my time with the lord so many times. As a result, i have become deaf and ignorant to his conviction and direction for my life. Because of this, prayer has been pretty much a chore for me, and my prayer life has become stale.
