I don't know. The idea of other games doing similar things better is why I'm less interested in Cities and much more interested in Rock Hard 1977. After seeing both, I'm convinced Rock Hard will be a successful game. It's not as though people don't want or never wanted to be a Rock star and would rather be a city planner, a game just hadn't done it well, but i think Devir has with Rock Hard 1977. That said, I only sat in for a demo, so I'm looking forward to playing at some point.

When my daughter was born I started gravitating to solo games because time became an even bigger commodity to me than it already was. Now my daughter is halfway through elementary school and I’m back to two-a-month game nights with friends. I’m still a solo player in between. Enjoy being parents. It’s the best.

First off, congrats on the upcoming baby. Becoming a parent is the most rewarding thing possible. I do have a question in one game I saw here. Are they releasing Star Realms Rise of Empire? I read in the Kickstarter comments that they were not going to release it there as the Backers come first. I was just curious

I love the naive notion of what the next year will be like. The first year is the warmup. You’ll get plenty played then. It’s the 2 1/2 to 5 range where they will just walk up and flip the board because it’s there that you have to worry about.

I actually own Things in Rings now. Hoping to get it to the table tonight. I was actually excited about Rock Hard until I saw the mechanics. I love the theming of classic rock music, but it just seems too complex for what it is. It also seems like one that’d get played once or twice and then shelved or sold. Also, I’m surprised Comic Hunters and Wandering Galaxies aren’t on this list.

That’s totally fair :) - I think the game is going to be solid (Devir does great work) but the theme is going to squash it for most groups.
