I wasn't the smartest with money in my teens/twenties. Now that I'm 33, I've realized most people tend to want to look wealthy, rather than be wealthy. I've learned the hard way, and feel like now I pride myself on informing other people (especially younger folks) on the steps to financial freedom. There's really no better feeling!

I drive a car that I paid $2300 for 11 years ago. I bought another for my wife that cost me $500. We sold a very successful restaurant years ago and have invested all the money. My clothes are over 10 years old for the most part. I look like an average joe but have a bank account that says otherwise. My coworkers who drive bmws and Mercedes give me crap for my “shitmobile” even though its been dead reliable since I bought it and costs a fifth the price to maintain. Their new cars are always needing work while I’m saving money. We live on my wife’s salary, which is good, and use 100% of mine for investing. I will not need to work by the time I’m 50, but will because I enjoy it. I get rich by living like I’m not. So to my acquaintances who wonder why I’m in Hawaii or Amsterdam every few months and wonder how I aafford it, now they know.

You should take a proper look into diversification of positions because the market can be incredibly volatile, and on any given day you might get good returns or lose a big chunk of your investment, but if you own shares of funds from different companies, you're spreading the risk out by a lot. Lastly get a Investment Advisor for guidance don't rely on books & Utube vids only

Almost anyone can get good returns in a raging bull stock market To quote Warren Buffet "you can tell who's swimming naked when the tide goes out " You should have some idea of how you would respond in a fifty percent drop in the broad market. This is often when eighty percent of retail investors panic and sell. Therefore it is important that you know whether you can handle such a pullback. The stock market goes up and the market goes down.

Well, this isn't all true. Some people are not organised in certain areas of their lifes, while being highly organised in others. You simply can't do it all at the same level. Allowing oneself to be less organised means less stress. It's the same with these dreadful talks about getting up early. When you're a dedicated night-owl ( like me), there's no way to get meaningful stuff done early in the morning. Learning, organising, investing whatever needs to be done with my brain switched on is reserved for late afternoons and the hours before midnight.😊
