For Keurig users 😃Invest in a Reusable K-Cup... You can buy your favorite coffees from Starbucks Grinded or Beans (😉Some are even nice enough to grind your beans for you), and it lasts so much longer than those 14$ boxes with only 10-12 Kcups.

Late reply, but I just got accepted to BU for Comp Sci. SAT:1280 ACT:29 (UW) GPA: 3.9 As you can see, my test scores are shit... however test scores are only a fraction of what makes up your application. I was able to speak with a few BU admission officers about the whole application process and they all emphasized extracurricular activities, *the essays* , and the classes you take in hs. Make sure that your senior year course load is more challenging than your junior year, BU ao's want to see constant improvement, not "senioritis". Also, heavy emphasis on essays because it will make or break your admission decision, regardless of your test scores and whatnot. My extracurriculars: Sports: Cross country, Wrestling, Judo (Team Captain) Volunteer Work: I volunteer at a farm (Roughly 12hr/week), Tutor at a elementary school (~4hrs/week), Beach cleanups on weekends Clubs: Robotics Research: Participated in a research project by my state's public uni for tropical agriculture (this is my volunteer farm work)

Rising senior in hs right now. Any tips on admissions? I believe my stats are sufficient but the admissions this year may be much more holistically based.
@AndieLim4 жыл бұрын
Good luck with applying! From what I understand, BU takes a holistic approach when looking at applications. My best advice when it comes to applying to BU, is really make your essay personal to you and BU. Don't just use some generic "Why ...." essay. Really get into the details about WHY you want to go to BU. What makes BU different from others. I would look at specifics such as programs, classes, extracurriculars, and monuments on campus. Good luck!

Hi!! I just got accepted into BU and I'm planning on studying Political Science. I was wondering how big the classes were and how difficult they were for you? Thank you so much!
@AndieLim4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Congrats!!! I love studying Political Science at BU. The classes are amazing. So for the major, you'll have to take 3 intro classes. Those are usually very big lectures around 100-200 students. I really recommend taking Intro to International Relations with Schilde. Best professor and class and it's an easy A. Then you take a few upper level classes after that including a graduate seminar. Most of my upper level classes have ranged from 12-60 students. I'm taking a graduate seminar now and there's 14 students including me. My US Media and Politics class has about 60 students. It's probably the largest upper level political science class I've taken so far. I focus on International Relations because I find those classes more interesting and easier for me, so overall I haven't had much difficulty with the classes. The professors want you to succeed and will help you when you need it.

Sorry I have a couple last questions haha, has it been hard trying to find internships for Poli Sci (if you have tried)? Also, does BU help with internships at all?
@AndieLim4 жыл бұрын
@@peacegirl5478 So there's a lot of opportunities for political science internships. You could intern with state governments and even the federal government. BU has some internship programs in Boston and NYC and even some study abroad programs with internships included. I'm pretty sure you're guaranteed an internship once you get into those programs and they're fairly easy to get into.

Does your GPA matter EXTREMELY for BU?
@AndieLim5 жыл бұрын
So I think your GPA does matter but there’s so many things that balance it out. For me, I didn’t have a high GPA when I applied to BU but I did have a higher ACT score and lots of extracurriculars that helped bring my application up a bit

JustMax Definitely. They value athletes A LOT (to the point that the schools own athletes get first pick for housing over even non-athlete seniors 😭). So long as you show you’re serious about the school (email them at least once during the admissions process lol, bug them) they’ll definitely accept you.

Is it normal to pay for each load of laundry??
@AndieLim4 жыл бұрын
At universities, it's very common to pay for laundry. At BU, you can get convenience points which is just money put on your BU identification card and you can use it at restaurants and convenient stores at BU. If you run out of convenience points, you will typically use your own money to pay for laundry
