I was thinking the same thing, I also can't really tell why he thinks it isn't feasible to make these into songs. He could make a whole album just expanding on these riffs, use one for each song lmao. 5 was my far my favorite one :)

In a new song we're writing, we transition out of a breakdown into the main riff using the "leave no fret untouched." My drummer asked me how to play it and I said "3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12"

Underoath - 'They're Only Chasing Safety' and 'Define The Great Line' from 2006 and 2008, so they're old, but amazing still.

These are all great riffs! Yeap, Four Year Strong first comes to mind. Then City Lights, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk, Abandoned by Bears, This Wild Life (old version), Set Your Goals, Belmont, Neck Deep and of course New Found Glory!

Basically just program the kick to match the guitar. Add the snare appropriately (usually when there’s a pause). Then add some kind of cymbal to keep steady time.
