The real reason is probably cause Nick knows that he’ll make more money from this video than by hoarding the game. Cody doesn’t have a successful KZbin channel, so the only value he gets from this rare game is by keeping it ‘rare’ and mysterious. The interesting part about it is that NIck’s video will ultimately drive up the demand for it… but also supply as more people start listing it. It’ll be interesting to see how the economics shake out here

Thank you for dumping and uploading the rom, that's the best way to preserve these things for posterity. I kind of understand why collectors buy stuff like this and sit on it without sharing, but all it takes is a house fire, or perhaps a relative discarding 'junk' after the owner dies, for these things to be lost forever. I really enjoyed the video too, very well-paced and suspenseful. It was fun to follow the twists and turns of the journey of that cartridge, and really cool to think that, thanks to your generosity and sense of community, I now own a little piece of it.

I’m pretty sure he was working with a nonprofit group helping kids in South America at the time, but I can’t remember the exact country. I would share his name, but not publicly like this. Though if you’ve read any academic papers about video game ethics (especially around gambling and micro transactions) then you might have seen him once or twice.
