She has nothing to grow into. She was always perfect. She's a Mary Sue. The only thing that happens is other people perceive her differently because she's forced to make tough choices where somebody is always going to get hurt. Having other people realize how awesome she is and giving her a cool nick name isn't character growth. The only time she's human is when she inexplicably makes bad choices in season 5. The only good thing about her character is the actress who plays her is super hot. But it's fine it's a really good show all the other characters are good.

@@annatruong0820 The mountain men spent decades hunting, torturing and killing grounders like psycopaths. It was dumb for Lexa to even trust that they we're gonna honor their deal in the first place. She also weakened herself so much in the eyes of her own people because they had all the odds on their favor to finally get revenge and eliminate the biggest threath that always hunted them. But instead, she literally pleased them by giving them what they've always wanted (the chance to go back to the ground). Which also, would've made them more powerful and therefore way more dangerous for everyone in the future. Not to mention she also made a new enemy (skaikru) that had more resources and more technology and poweful weapons than grounders. So yeah, it was the stupidest move she could've done since she lost more than what she gain with that decision.

From the Grounders’ view, both Mountain men and Sky people were both bad and they weren’t interested in Sky people’s technology at that time either. Yes, they saved the reapers but besides that Sky people needed them a lot more in order to survive. Like Lexa said, she made the decision with her head aka ALIE 2 and not her heart. From ALIE 2’s calculation, it was a better choice. We’ve also seen later on, how AI has enchanted Raven’s mind and the decision she has made, saved everyone. It’s a never ending cycle that would only end with all of the mountain men dead. However, if she lets the mountain men have the sky people, they could cure themselves and never need grounder blood again.

@samb.61473 жыл бұрын
Its the opposite actually. Her decision "solved" the problem in the moment but in the long run she was doomed. Its clear in s3 and even if MW would've won against Skaikru she had no guarantee that they will honor their deal. She gave the biggest enemy the grounders had for decades the chance to be even more powerful by getting them to come out to the ground. Her people would've never accepted that. And she also trusted the psycopaths who tortured and drained grounder's blood for years AND tried to mass murder teenagers with a peace agreement lol. She could've just follow the original plan. They had everything to win, eliminate the mountain men (which is what every grounder actually wanted "blood must have blood") and she would've become the most heroic Heda they had. Not to mention a strong alliance with Skaikru that had a lot resources, medicine, technology and weapons that could've shared with them.

@@pkmndjk4154 Lexa did it to remain at the head of the coalition. It was a strategic move on her part according to Rothenberg. If the Mountain fell, the coalition would collapse. She didn't want that. So no, it wasn't to "save her people". Bellamy did horrible things, no denying that. However, it's not as simple as you paint it. Trikru slaughtered defenseless adolescents who were under Bellamy's leadership and protection. Then, the coalition spear headed by Lexa attempted to massacre them yet again because of Finn's actions. The grounders were not innocent; there was bad blood from the beginning. Lexa betrayed them and demonstrated that she is untrustworthy; her word is unreliable. Having an army of warriors near the encampment who were under the orders of the woman who had left them for dead... Yeah, he wasn't going to risk it. Although mistaken, Bellamy believed he was saving his people because to him the grounders were a threat (understandably). If you can give Lexa a pass for 1) allowing the bomb to drop on her people even though it wasn't necessary and she experienced no qualms and 2) leaving her allies to die... Then you've got to give a pass to Bellamy. At least Bellamy felt guilt. At least he had actual *reasons*, unlike Lexa who was only after personal gain.

The grounders don't like the skye people. All 12 clans support Lexa. Skaikru isn't a threat to the grounders. Mount Weather saw what happens when they launch a missile. @@taylors1974 No she wouldn't have. First of all because Cage would have never offered her such a deal since 99% of the army is Grounders. Clarke killed Finn, aka the man she was in love with, for this alliance. She would have NEVER broken it. All she did on s2 that was "like Lexa" was forced on her by Lexa (killing Finn, letting the bomb drop on all these people) but it's not Clarke. Clarke is a better person than that and she proves it every season. Not to mention how WEAK that makes Lexa look. Lexa made a deal with her people's worst enemies, the ones who have persecuted and killed them for decades now. All that because it was easier, WHILE they were easily winning this war. Stupid, really. And then Lexa and people who stan her use the "but she saved her people's lives!!!" excuse as if the Grounders were not constantly at war over every minor thing because that's all they know.
@MiriamGarcia-uw7fi5 жыл бұрын
@@taylors1974 Disagree. Clarke looks at the bigger picture. While tempting, she wouldn't have taken the deal because then she'd have the remaining grounders (who outnumber the Arkers) to deal with in future. A war she doesn't want and has never wanted; she knows her people would lose. She wouldn't risk it, she wouldn't betray them. It also wasn't the smartest move. It was the wrong move for Lexa's people. Forget Skaikru, her grounders didn't want this. The hatred they felt for MW for years of torture was deep rooted. They sought vengeance just as much (if not more) as they sought their people's freedom. Lexa refused them Blood Must Have Blood. These are warriors accustomed to war. Her abandoning the fight, allowing their captor and number 1 enemy walk away without punishment, was a cowardly act to them. And that's why she's in such a precarious position in Season 3. The sky people also didn't keep up their deal to the full extent. It was pretty flimsy from the beginning, Clarke tells Lexa that the missing Grounders are kept in cages so they have an "army inside", but Clarke doesn't disclose how bad of shape Lexa's people are. They're being bled out and not in great fighting condition (look at how they shambled out of Mount Weather. Then Bellamy was supposed to release the Grounders but he only released the one girl and left to help his friends instead of staying and protecting them. He was the only person with a weapon and him leaving made it easy for the mount weather guards to subdue the grounders. If Lexa didn't take the deal all of the Grounder prisoner inside, hundreds of people, would've been executed by the guards. It was a choice between hundreds of her people inside being gunned down and who knows how many other grounders and sky people dying in the fight to take the mountain, or 30 something sky people. Plus most of the sky soldiers marched out with Lexa's army. It's not like she had her soldiers grab them and hand them over to Mount Weather. Now having said that, even though season 2 has the best writing of the entire show, I still think the show could have a done a better job laying out the final conflict in a more clear way that pushes the characters. They rushed and skipped a lot just so that the deal mount weather offers would shock the audience rather than having a more logical conclusion to the war.

Even if I like Lexa's character I still never let her off the hook for this like all that blood must have blood bullshit they live by is that just not a thing when they don't want it to be like huh this is why she looked weak to her enemies she let them bitch slap her people and kept walking I know that's not grounder 101

This is one of those things where the writers forgot their own story getting caught up in the "OMG!" moment of Lexa betraying Clarke. The whole reason the allied clans followed her was to take down the mountain. This is already established and said more than once this season. By walking away with her tail between her legs when she could have had total victory she proved she wasn't fit to lead. She just handed the mountain men victory over her people in the long run. This was such an idiotic decision on Lexa's part. And poor Bellamy did all that WORK for this ish to happen. lol
@MiriamGarcia-uw7fi5 жыл бұрын
I don't have the link to the article, but Jason said it was strategy on her part. She was "thinking twelve steps ahead". As you stated, the Coalition was created because of the threat Mount Weather posed. Lexa knew that if that threat was removed, her Coalition would fall. That's why she took the deal. Her goal was to keep the Coalition and allowing Mount Weather to survive ensured that. Of course, this reason was thrown into the garbage the following season in order to make Lexa look good so that CL could happen.

I've noticed that guy never liked Clarke since the moment he joined watching the show. I got a bad vibe from him and every episode I get annoyed with his biased opinion. Like even at this point where Lexa effed up he still vilifies Clarke. C'mon dude! Anyways, this episode showed the strengths and weaknesses of both Clarke and Lexa as leaders. I love how it's gonna shape the kind of leaders they both become from now on.

He seems to dislike leaders who make decisions to kill people, regardless of the intention. I've noticed that about him.

In my opinion the writers had to betrayed Lexa as a character to make her take the deal with the Mount Weather people and have their plot twist. During this season we have seen her always thinking whats best for the long run, so much that she was willing to sacrifice her people by not telling them about the missile. Also the grounders have many years of tension with Mouth Weather, so going to war against them wasn't just to get their people back, they wanted the guilty to pay for what they have done to them. So why would she take a deal like that?, if the Mount Weather people wins against Skykru they would became a bigger threat to the grounders since they would be able to walk freely one the ground, many more grounders would suffer and die over time. Lexa should have known that if the enemy is offering them a deal is because they are loosing and they have no other option. Why would she retreat if its matter of time before they loose? I could see Lexa betraying Skykru if it truly was the best for her people, but for the reason that she did, is not consistan with what we have seen from this character in preview episodes.

When everyone seems to not see that lexa didn't have to do that period that had pretty much won already the doors were opened they had the numbers they had a great plan love lexa but that was a stupid decision
@MiriamGarcia-uw7fi5 жыл бұрын
Right? Those who come to her defense fail to acknowledge that fact. Would there have been causalities? Sure. Would they have emerged victorious? Abso-fucking-lutely. Mount Weather was outnumbered and the grounders were shown to be lethal in combat. It was game over, that's why Cage and Dante offered that deal: they knew they would lose.
@pkmndjk41545 жыл бұрын
The mountain men were massacring the grounders, They could have also executed the ones in the interior. More grounders would have died if Lexa didn't do what she did. Victory was guaranteed but there would be heavy casualties and a chance that they wouldn't be able to save anyone.
@xjedireactornickyx14405 жыл бұрын
@@pkmndjk4154 that's a part of war and she had no problem sacrificing people before(a move I agree with if it has strategic value) and tbh the casualties wouldn't be even close to being all that high there were far more grounders inside than the mountain men could handle
@MiriamGarcia-uw7fi5 жыл бұрын
@@pkmndjk4154 Lexa. Didn't. Care. About. Casualties. There was no chance they wouldn't be able to save anyone. It was a guaranteed victory. The mountain was outnumbered. The grounders are lethal soldiers. It would have been over quick. The grounders would have preferred that to fleeing from a fight.
@checkmate53385 жыл бұрын
This show has so many inconsistencies and problems. For example, Why did the grounders make a complete 180 and accept this new treaty? How did they all suddenly become okay with this after chanting "blood for blood" and constantly talked about getting revenge? They constantly talked about being abused over and over again about the mountain men. If they get their hostages back, the mountain men can just continue to attack and harvest them later. Doesn't make sense for them to go back when they are so close. 2) And Why is Clarke standing right outside the gate at the end of the episode by herself when there were so many shooters right there just a few moments ago. It's so stupid for a leader to be out there, and it's stupid for the opposing side not to take advantage of that.
@checkmate53385 жыл бұрын
Another example was when Abby decided she was going to help Lincoln. A person she never met, with an illness she never heard of before, having never encountered a reaper, all of this while hoping her own daughter can convince an opposing leader to give them a few minutes to heal lincoln and hoping the leader will actually approach them to the dropship. The same dropship which killed 300 of their people, yet somehow the leader just happened to have enough trust at that particular point to be led into a closed space
@teeemtee57395 жыл бұрын
For me this show is weird. I'm completely caught up with it btw. Its by far the best show on the CW but it stills falls into the same teenager romance-drama cheesiness that plagues all the other shows from time to time. It's a good show, but mainly for the network that it's on.
@checkmate53385 жыл бұрын
@@teeemtee5739 Yeah the story concept is very interesting for me too. It kept me interested to see where the story will go next. But so many problems this season, like how characters suddenly change to being completely different people, or how main characters have so heavy plot armor. Bellemy should have died 20 times over this season.

Lexa is the most low life characters there is in the history of the show. No honor. Lexa literally betrayed Clarke bc Clarke didn't respond to Lexa's come on. Basically she could get Clarke in bed and manipulate her some more so she betrayed her. She was probably also getting Clarke back for killing Finn and not letting her people do it. Lexa is a simpering child. Raina nailed it. I did enjoy Suraj's appreciation of Bellamy to find a way through a vent. Chris quoting Alex Jones was hilarious.

Same. I didn't like Finn but Clarke killed him for that alliance. On the episode after that, we got Clarke being traumatized by what she did, but saying she had to do it and the alliance HAD to succeed to make Finn's death "worth it" (so her trauma, worth it too). And Lexa didn't make it easier, calling this trauma "justice" because it would haunt her for the rest of her life. LOL. She also put Bellamy on the line for that, not to mention how she almost let Abby and Octavia die because of Lexa's plan regarding the bomb. Lexa basically manipulated/"groomed" Clarke to be like her all through s2, put so much blood on her hands, and then just dumped her here. And on s3 lol, what does she have better to do than to gaslight Clarke for everything she had to do? Ugh! At this point it's just lucky/convenient that the Mountain Men didn't come out full gear to take Clarke and kill her on the spot. Did Lexa care? Well, no. Talk about an epic love story where Lexa kissed Clarke three days after she forced her to kill Finn. Literally, I'm just like... uGH.
