@@astroANN For me I love Murphy and Pike was definitely on the wrong side of just about everything on the ground. But the flashback scenes on the Ark really established how he got to that mindset. Imagine being given a room full of teenagers and told you're their only chance of survival but you're not even allowed to tell them so they will pay attention. He knew he had to find a way to get them to not only fight to survive but fight for each other if they were going to have a chance on the ground. He was willing to put himself in harms way to do so. I find the whole scene really moving. I also think it makes me understand Pike a little more. Look at what Jaha, Kane and Abby were like on the Ark and then they want to lecture on the ground? In a way they created the Pike we all love to hate.

I just said that because it’s seems Murphy’s first instinct is violence. Teaching him to fight in class obviously does not help the situation. They say they couldn’t kill her because she was just a kid but from what I believe anyone under 18 is still considered a kid. Obviously Murphy was under 18 cause other wise he would have been floated. Either way they were ready to kill him but the moment she says she did they were quick to defend her. But killing Conner that other boy and trying to kill Bell was uncalled for. No matter how annoying Conner was.

Probably the best scene in the series. He didn't have time to teach them all the little survival skills, so he taught them the most important, most fundamental, most foundational, of all survival skills: the law of the jungle. And he did it in a way so that they couldn't forget. Brilliant scene.

You gotta appreciate what a well written antagonist Pike is. He is a genuinely menacing antagonist but he isn't a pure villain either. He genuinely believed in what he was doing and wanted nothing more than for Skykru to survive and is willing to go to extreme measures to ensure it. And you see this mentality come through when he arrives on Earth and to him, survival means an "us vs them" sort of militarism/fascism. Its a very real phenomenon and Pike is the perfect man to lead Skykru down that road.

I do agree tho he was the best antagonist by a long shot. The rest of the shows villains were either goofy, cartoonish, characicatures, but atleast pike felt like a fully realized character that you could understand and see where he was coming from and how he got to be this way

Farm station landed on earth with around 180 people who were cut down to 63 by the grounders. So no way the remaining farm station survivors were ready to live along with grounders. For them all grounders were same no matter which clan they belonged to.

​@@arunmusunuri9276 thats the problem man theyre not all the same everyone is its own person they were ready to burn down villages of innocent people who had nothing to do with this. why couldnt you not live peacefully with them they are different people. right because you think theyre the same. and thats just straight up fascism and thats what pike was and why hes wrong. would you just kill 300 people just like that? the whole series is about that there are no right solutions and that the end cannot justify the means. whatever reason you have to hate someone like the grounders and kill them its never right. and the grounders, they just wanted to protect their territory. you say they are barbarians yet in the series you see over and over how the arcadians do the same things like the grounders. the show plays with this. the are many moments where you see arkadians doing the same mistakes as everyone else, exactly the same, taking bone marrow from luna, using sleeping gas to take the bunker like mountain men and so on. from their perspective it looks like the right thing but the show wants us to teach that it always does but never is. from someone elses view, what theyre doing seems like the right thing. there is no right or wrong and good people can be bad people from another point of view or at another point of time. its much more complicated. and you should at least admit this, instead of trying to put yourself in the good light and blaming others

Basically, Murphy was wrongly accused of killing Wells, the son of Chancellor Jaha. Clarke and Bellamy riled up the crowds and hung him. Charlotte, a 13 year old girl finally admitted to being the murderer before Murphy died and they released him. Clarke and Bellamy never apologized for it and they took off with Charlotte after Murphy got a gang together to get revenge on her. After seeing all the harm she caused, Charlotte kills herself by jumping off a ravine. Clarke and Bellamy blame Murphy for Charlotte’s death and banish him.
