Both the upgraded versions of Tejas will definitely be a 4.5 plus generation aircraft as proved in the various airshow across the globe. The Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft although still on the drawing boards, if implemented verbatim will be a lethal air fighter. However as repeated time and again, India should manufacture ( not assemble) all the components and not source out any. Only then, we can project our prowess beyond our frontiers for strategic gains if we want to be the 3rd super power ( USA, China, India, Russia). If not,then 😢

No, the program was cancelled in favor of a retrofit to make it the F16XL. The BLOC program decided on the stealth retrofit to the F15 instead. The retro fit will allow the F22 parts to be fitted to the F15. The F44 is gonna be the primary fighter for the US most likely to debut in 2030.

But I totally disagree with the aircraft thing and BAE sending 100 engineers etc. Prove your claim about this by replying here with a link to any official statement from Turkish govt agencies or from BAE/British govt or any news article from a reputed national news website like Anadolu or TRT. As far as my reading and following this project from the beginning, Aircraft is totally locally produced with its own indigenous control systems, computers, avionics, radars, landing gears, and locally designed and developed body, etc. Turkey is only cooperating with other countries for engines. But still, no solid support Turkey has gained for its engine project either. TUSAS is also working on developing an indigenous engine with its own capabilities. It is already working on TAI TF6000/ TF10000 as a learning platform and once these are successful TUSAS can embark on developing an engine for KAAN, this is what TAI CEO Temel Kotil said in a recent interview.

Because it can't come before 2035 if ever. Right now Hal is busy with Tejas Mark2 and AMCA, Tejas Mark 2 won't be completed before 2028. Even if TEDBF shares multiple parts with Tejas Mark 2 and AMCA, it will still take time to make it. More likely Hal would suggest the Tejas Mark 2 M variant with Twin engines by that time. Since the Navy doesn't want a single engine Aircraft.

@@waltuh-gx4ig every fighter jet development faces problems. F35 was said to be fully developed and used, but it still has problems. Many F35 squadrons in the world get grounded due to issues popping up every now and then. I think the biggest problem is that they have to use engines manufactured by other countries right now until they design their own. The engine is the king. However, I think they have everything else; radar (theirs is better than what F35 has), electronic warfare systems, common platform for controlling UAVs and other assets (F35 does not have that capability), testing systems (lightning, aerodynamics, etc). They are not flying it yet since the pilot ejection system was not fully developed (I think they successfully tested about two weeks ago). It is interesting to watch how fast they are moving.

Based on how bad Chinese UAVs are, no country in the East wants to buy Chinese military aircraft (nobody believes in Chinese specs after UAV debacle). Russia has heavy demands for 5th gen aircraft; you have to buy 4th gen first. Another problem for all these new development is that they have to have supporting ground equipment, service centers, etc. That's the reason why Turks are trying to get more F16s since they have F16 ground equipment and they have been making F16s since 1980s. Everybody is trying to get away from buying and using fighter jets from the US. I heard that British pilots hate F35s due to the need for codes every time they need to fly an F35. Without a valid code, you cannot start an F35 and take off and those codes change daily.

Versatility? It's radar signature is big. It's primarily role from now on is a missile boat or ground attack after air defense has been knocked out. It can't compete in air to air or air defense supression without a stealthier airframe.

The F-36 is an online pipedream it won't be in the USAF. This is just non military types copy pasting. The Indian aircraft and the Turkish one will eventually become reality but the AMCA MK-1 is going to be 4,5 generation the MK-2 will be 5th generation. The Tejas MK-1A is a light strike fighter that can do point defence. The TX will be dependent on western European and US technology so it will take a lot longer before they get clearance under the current circumstances. The Russian Federation can't build anything modern in numbers that matter and are incapable of building a fourth generation aircraft with modern capabilities let alone a fifth generation. The Chinese are close to getting a real 5th generation aircraft, around a decade if they keep stealing technology. The rest will be ready close to the expected delivery date. But the major missing ones are more telling about the channel as they seem to have missed Korean and Japanese developments that actually work.

Not due to sanctions they were faced with predecessor aircraft that were as expensive to maintain as the entire F-16/TF-50 fleet. They have 17 Sukhoi aircraft compared to over 50 of the other aircraft. The Rafale was chosen after it beat the pants off the Su-35 during the Egyptian wargames years ago. That was the last nail in the Su-35 coffin until it failed in Ukraine and had a civilian Sat-Nav taped to it.
