It's REALLY fun for early and mid game. It becomes a bit of a pain in lategame. I'd highly recommend it as a fun little thing to do on the side though :) Make sure you set reasonably low level / achievable goals, and definitely stop when you're not enjoying yourself anymore.

You should consider the runelite plugin that shows the path your character would take as you hover over tiles -- would help you be sure you're unlocking the quickest route to your destination, and allow you to click once to run rather than clicking multiple times. Or, you could do the thing where you right click on the world map to set your destination and that will highlight your path to the same effect

You can see how he still clicks every couple tiles instead of just clicking to the end, so he's clearly not super confident in the path he created. And this would free up some small amount of brainpower when he's covering much longer distances.

Might be smart to unlock all the tiles that constitute the Lumbridge spawn in case you die. You wouldn't want the account's progress to be softlocked due to a technicality.

@@chrism45 he kinda already did that, every 1m XP will double the amount of xp he needs per tile. And if you're talking about pre 1m xp... nerfing it too early might drag the pace of episodes and such which might backfire.

A other good option would be, once he's comfortably gaining xp at a decent rate, to bank enough tiles to get back on his established path from a lambridge spawn tile. He's gonna want to unlock those tiles at some point anyway, so either way will work out.

Settled, a quick idea: If you make a mistake and go off of your tile you should have to unlock those tiles next! It would be more punishing for mistakes without having to restart the account.

After getting the axe and tinderbox, I opted to go to the general store to sell drops for gp, then made it to the willow, then racked up a bunch of wc and firemaking levels and made my way behind the furnace over the bridge to the chicken farm. It may have been nostalgia of playing 10yrs ago that pulled me that direction. I have yet to find out if it was a good idea. I have no plan from here.

On the one hand, I'm so excited that this series is coming out so fast, but I wonder if it will ever be as momentous as waiting months on end for a swampletics episode. That said, I'm sure that as XP and loot grinds become more complex and tiles start costing more, it will take longer between each episode. Especially if the goal is as enormous and far off as The Theater. Very curious what that goal will be, by the way. I suspect that the mention of having to unlock tiles in instanced areas was probably a big hint. Regardless, very hype Settled! Hope this goes well!

Tile Saving Idea: Add tiles diagonally, even if moving in a straight line (unless needed for fire making). In the future, when you want to build off an existing path, it will save you tiles. If going long distances, do 3-4 tile diagonal moves, zig-zagging, as this will cover more area for future options and less tile usage.
