There's items that do damage based on souls, if one of those was gotten it could have won with high clarity. There's also a scroll that lets you convert extra souls to stats which could have allowed for something. There's ways for it to work just didn't hit any of em other than 4x clarify modifier

If you'd taken the +5 poison on attack item you could have easily killed the bird; he's super easy to stun with the explosive creatures and you could stack up like 15 poison before he unstuns just once which is...well, it's a lot of damage.

Perfect combo for spoon: Hermit (freezing hat) + Spoon + Scream Spell Book (the one which +1 to petrify or soul damage if kills) max speed and maybe some clarity (maybe add the boots which make so that rogue items don't count with said items(no ranged attack mask)) And a little, helpful bit of info, treasure creatures only can escape to nameless doors (NOT Wishfuls, Ambushes, Friends e.t.c.)

Defense builds like this one are good in this game, but you need some source of alternative damage if you want to win, even a suboptimal poison build could let you do a lot more in this run

100% would’ve been the winning play. It’s not crazy but with the defence and clarity even doing a little more damage would enable far more enemy kills and more enemy kills would get enough souls to snowball to victory.

You can use keys for moving left and right, makes stalling to make the enemies advance turns much less painful!

Going for the Owl was a better move, becuase you still get chests there, being able to buy something while stalling the fight. On the other path there would be no chance with this build I think.
