Man- that little thing Meryl did with her necklace really shows how she doesn’t just “play” a character. She *becomes* the character.

The fact that Celeste isn't featured here at all (rightly so though) made me realize how different and outstanding that character/performance was when compared to these other great performances, and maybe that's why Kidman was the standout of the series in terms of award success. Celeste wasn't here just to deliver some quick punchline or be a scene-stealer, she existed in a very different way in the series to these other women. No surprise she became the heart and soul of both seasons when they finished.

same with Shailene's character... i feel like they were both a little more serious and had shared trauma

Yep! Celeste and Jane had some real dramatic issues to address and weren't so quick to slap back like the other characters

Renata May been intense but I like how she stood up to Madeline even if I sometimes like her character too. It’s ironic that two similarly fierce and protective women butted heads in season one

can someone explain the "door is hinged" joke cause I really can't get it?
And I know Meryl Streep’s character is the antagonist but unfortunately there’s some truth to her behind some of her words and behaviours . Her perception of Madeleine was pretty accurate.
@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Жыл бұрын
Maybe but whatever she understood about Madeleine had nothing to do with madeline's height lmao
@peterdunlop76915 ай бұрын
After watching the show I got the impression that Meryl also had private investigators on all the Monterey 5 and not just her daughter-in-law. Her criticisms of the women were far too perceptive. Her mentioning about Renata's furniture and the nanny and swipes at Madeline were too on the mark and manipulative to be purely intuitive.
