Hello Karen, your doing a great job, if you were to keep the bales on their flat and start at the top of the bale it will split down the centre and is a lot easier to work with.before did it the same way as your self one day my back was a bit sore I found out it was easier on there flat.. because it doesn't roll down on you .keep up the good work

Some fine weanlings there Karen!, great satisfaction breeding cattle like that. My silage was wet last year and stank too...but the cattle did very well on it, it smelled so bad I got it tested for the first time ever and it turned out to be 76.6 DMD. I could smell it off the back of my hands when I came in after feeding, and I hadn't even touched it!

Good video Karen, you have great powerful stock, there a credit to you. You should maybe consider getting a few chains with clips for tieing gates together, your cattle are too powerful for baler twine or rope if they push up against the gate. Should also consider leaving a bale next to the gate or park the tractor up to it for extra support when handling the cattle. Even though there quite your cattle are too strong to be handling relying on ropes and string alone to keep gates together. Stay safe.

Yet another informative update - thank you Karen. You have a great relationship with your 4 legged children. The way you step over to pat your boy Sheehan who watches your every movement, then scolding Bert telling him he will hurt 'someone' Bert seemed to enjoy his butt rub while being weighed. The two big boys at the end of the weigh in were very impressive. I'd want to have a very securely attached gate/fence set up to avoid a near death experienced from even a small calf. If you can just drag the heavy gate that would be nothing for a charging calf, then add the scare from having a gate around her head would add to her panic. Very impressive wheelies with the 135 too. In case you don't post an update in the next 12 days and understanding that farmers don't get real breaks as there is always something to do, I hope you and your family all have a wonderful Christmas.

Being a new subscriber to your channel, about 3 months, I think, I have a lot to learn. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Referring to myself, of course, not you luvvy. 😏 A little about myself before I start. Firstly, I'm a cheeky chap. I always joke around. So, if I say something to upset or offend you or anyone reading my comment, I apologise now, profusely. I worked as a general labourer on a farm, which was also a livery stable, back in the early 1970s. I started there when I was 15 straight from school. My first job, on my first day, after the pet talk, was to walk a bull, a very, very large bull with a ring through his nose from a field into the padlock having to cross two fields. That in itself was scary because that beast scared the bejesus out of me just with his look, that beedy eye of his. That eye seemed to follow me everywhere I turned. I felt it burrow deep into my soul. That's how scared I was but I had to pull through it, I wanted the job so bad. Let's just say things happened to me that day, things I'll never forget. It turned out it was my initiation test, which I passed with flying colours. I saw many things and had great times on that farm wonderful memories. I even lodged with the farmer and his family for a while until I got myself lodgings. Anyway, having seen what I thought was everything on that farm during the 5 years I worked there. I have never ever seen cows or bulls cliped, horses, yes, but... So, my question is this, I'm sure I'm not the only viewer to wonder this, but why clip them? I understand clipping around their nether regions for breeding, or perhaps, for hygienic reasons, even shows, but why do it across the back? Seems strange. I guess once I know the reason it may not seem strange after all. Next, a little light relief. As for the weigh-in. At first, I thought I had my wires crossed listening to a combination of boxing and a local beauty contest both at the same time. 😂😂😂 Not to alarm you, Karen. But, did you know, there are apparently more Farm related accidents recorded at A&E during winter time than there are road traffic accidents during Christmas and New Year combined, all from drink driving. I never knew that until the other day when I heard it on the radio. Fancy that.😮 WoW. I never knew you were so daring. Pulling stunts with that tractor, up on two wheels. You go, girl 😉 show those lads on electric bikes pulling wheelies in the streets how to do a proper wheelie👍 No, seriously, though. Didn't that giant X painted on the bail give you a clue not to go near it? I would have left it well alone. You are braver than me. I bet you would do great in a bull fighting contest, the way you fight off your beasts armed with whopping great heavy steel gates. 😝 I'm so glad auto correct didn't change the word beasts adding an r. That could have been a whole different show 😏 I did say I was cheeky. 🤭 I bet you thought. I know, I'll just cut off the plastic top, which will lighten the load. Then, if I still can't lift the bloody thing, I'll ram it in while pulling wheelies all the way. 😂😂😂 Time to be serious now. Today was a really bad day for me. Someone close to me passed away. Its okay. It was to be expected, they had the big C and been fighting it for almost 12 years. So, I was feeling rather down, that is, until I got home, sat in my favourite chair. Reached for my bottle of whisky and caught up on my KZbin videos. Thank you for entertaining me, for cheering me up, and making me laugh as I watched your video. Then, even more so as I laughed at my own jokes. I'm not one for leaving comments, but I always give you the thumbs up. Today is different because I've a few whiskies inside me. 😘🙏🇬🇧⚒️

Hi Karen the 135 is perfect, did u ever consider getting a forklift mast for her on wheels, you can still lift the forklift up on the three point, but u also have the wheels, it would save the tractor lifting up on the front , & you could grap bales easier higher up with the mast
@karenmoynihanfarm11 ай бұрын

@Johndonvan86111 ай бұрын
@@karenmoynihanfarmjust a back end fork lift mast only it is on wheels , so it takes the weight off the tractor, be ideal on the hard yard, specially if u had a bale spike toe on the fork lift mast rather than the two pallet toes., there's one on you tube if u type in , I found a forklift for the tractor for €450 you'll find it

Instead of buying the loader (even though I'm sure it is great) I would be looking at a good quality 2nd hand tractor with a front end loader capable of lifting bales, just because it would be so much more versatile than the loader.
