it really says a lot when a fragrance reviewer can stand in front of shelves full of roja and other high-end niche frags, and tell us about the best cheapies with the same level of passion. i really super appreciate that because maybe once a year i can treat myself to one of the big guns, but to get my collection going, i absolutely have to rely on the cheapies. and buying cheapies can be like wandering through a mine field. there are some real stinkers out there. so thanks again for your range of reviews! I gotta agree with some of your other posters here - 3am is a big banger for the buck - and unique with that fig (and what an atomizer, among the best in the game), nautica voyage is a must-have for any collector - it's so versatile, fresh and good, penguin premium are amazing for the cost, the cremo line are fantastic deals, al rehab has some delicious stuff for next to nothing, the list goes on and on - there's a lot of good stuff out there at very reasonable prices, but yes we need the help sifting through them because there are some big hits and some big misses, too.

One of my favorite cheapies for spring/summer is Sean John 3am. Great to put on before running errands for 2-3 hours. In the summer I sometimes wear it the morning, then switch to something else by late morning/noon since it only gives me 3-4 hours longevity.

I was just gonna say the same thing. This is how I started with 95% of the ones you talked about...about 2-3yrs ago. Then I went "ape-shit"...buying like there was no tomorrow. My hobby transformed in a collection of "well over" 300 fragrances..designer, niche and some that I combined and created something totally different. I have waaaaay too much. But I "literally" cannot stop. I have tried. But once I start looking at KZbin again..it's a wrap. I come home and I see boxes everywhere. I want to thank you for taking the edge off of blind-buying and giving us insight. Some of those are SURPRISINGLY GOOD for someone with narrow pockets. But once you can reach deeper, try a few niche. Clones are good, BUT THE REAL IS ALMOST ALWAYS next level. I have smelled a few that literally had my eyes rolling backwards. Sum it up..get what you can, but when you can get high-end. GET IT. BE VERSATILE. Because they can become boring. I could never even half way empty my bottles. But I refuse to let them go.

Big -T i tried finding this one at Burlington, Ross, etc. Never did so i ended up ordering it from Walmart. Paid $26 for a 3.4oz at the time last year and man.....The scent is definitely very similar to the Versace version

Mad props for promoting Paris Hilton for men. It was my first cologne in 2004. This stuff is GORGEOUS. Fresh airy melony warm weather fragrance with a sexy light woody dry down without harsh ambroxan. I have yet to find a more expensive version of this dna replicated by a designer or niche brand. Truly one of a kind. Its shocking this is hidden under a female celebrity name. Its better than light blue intense. I get endless compliments. People go crazy over this stuff.

Voyage, Hugo Reversed, Set Sail St. Barts, Penguin Premium Blend and Cool Water Wave are all in my collection. Just wore Penguin premium blend yesterday. I bought Paris Hilton for men back in 2012 and that bottle performed, 6-8 hours easy on my skin. One I love to wear in the heat is Usher UR...the performance is trash (4 hours max), but the scent is awesome for $20. Just refresh as needed.

I would be interested in Voyage, Camuto, Hilton and Reserved. I would also suggest you Guess Red (same drydown as Boss bottled, but with a smoother opening) + Guess Los Angeles (close to Eros but so much better and smoother).

Just picked up AE Colonia. Currently wearing it. I'm still making my mind up about it. Wasn't thrilled on first spray but the dry down is much better. It is a bit different but smells high quality for the price. I feel like its gonna grow on me as the original AE did. I now have the original, Blu, Colonia and F Black. Blu is definitely the best, its amazing. F Black is a close second. Thanks for the recommendations I'm really happy to have discovered SF.

I’m not really here for the cheapies. You seem like a solid dude who’s honest and can talk without pretentiousness and just be real about what you know and what you don’t about frags. You don’t pretend to be something you’re not. And I do like it when people aren’t afraid to wear cheapies or talk about them. They’re kind of a fun thing for me that I use for nostalgia purposes, but letting people on a budget know which frags are decent and which ones are crap is helpful. I’m also a bigtime fan of Hugo Reversed. One of the best cheapies I own. And it is similar to Elysium parfum cologne. Similar enough to buy for sure. Cheers, man!

That Paris Hilton smells wonderful, but performance on my skin was lacking. Only 3-4 hours. Used up my 30ml bottle a couple years ago and have recently considered purchasing another bottle. I see that Penguin Premium Blend every time I'm in the rack stores. I keep hesitating even though I've heard nothing but good things from all the channels.
