@number4cat1 Gullible would be those who believe that enslaved people learned skills they could've learned without making evil caucasians wealthy. Insanely gullible.

Was it was is that they know the truth, and feel ashamed of the truth coming out. Their kids, grandkids, great grandkids are asking questions. Just tell the truth. It's ok to let them know.

Don't forget July 22nd 1620, and William Bradford. Like the 1619 project forgot the Spanish, and the Portuguese slavers.

US history is and was managed history indeed. The successful slave revolts in the Caribbean played a fundamental role on the hurridness John Adams, Franklin and others penned the declaration of independence out of fear the slave revolts would reach colonial America.

History is very complicated. There will always be areas that are not represented. That's why you need to continue to learn. The authors of constitution had to balance all considerations. Is slavery wrong? Yes, since inception thousands of years. So thank for your work. We need to be open to additions to our history be because there will always other additions.

interesting discussion will look for the book on this project. We should always be learning new things. My concern with reparations is, we are asking generations or people, including descendants of the people who will receive the payment, who had not involvement in the issue, to fund it. Money of this nature will not solve the problem. It won't prevent that black home owner from receiving a different evaluation of his home, which is wrong. Reparations are a band aide solution to the greater issue. There has been and still is discrepancies and discrimination in all walks of life throughout the world.

@kampdavies reparations is not just about enslavement. You would have a point if it was. But, this country continue to mistreat Black people. It was called apartheid or segregation for 100 years. Black people have been here for 405 years. But only been citizens for 50. In that 350 years they have seen this country give reparations to the enslaver. They gave reparations to European Immigrants after the Civil War. They gave land to the Native Americans. They paid reparations to the Japanese American in 1988. I don't remember anyone bringing up any objection to their reparations. Get this, Black people's taxes paid for it alone with the rest of America. These questions were never ask of the other groups that were mistreated by their government. They were still discriminated against after they received their reparations. So, let's stop with the restrictions on Black Americans when it comes to reparations. America owes it's most loyal citizens for all the evil they had go through to make America live up to what Dr. KING said, "Just be true to what you said on paper." Has America done that for its Black American citizens? NO!

It all Biblical Sis. Look around you, it’s judgement time for what they’ve done to Us. It in the Scripture. Deut 28-16:68. All the curses lay on Us. Even down to leaving our Children and Wides and Husbands and many more. Go read it.

Satan you are being exposed universally as God Allah has come. The project should be 1555 project as the first Black slaves were brought to America according to Library of Congress. Blacks were all over the earth when whites first "discovered them".
