I was born in 1960, and as of the mid 1970s, I listened to what I think was the 'right' music from the period, like Roxy Music, King Crimson, Kraftwerke, Fripp&Eno, more Eno, Bowie, The Pistols, The Ramones, and in the 1980s was blessed with all the fun music from Reggae, Ska, and all the oddities like Laurie Anderson, Grace Jones, as well as Motown, Prince; it was a decade with great music, no doubt. The 1975 seems to fit in to that spirit so well , I find myself listening to it, at sixty, and enjoying it as much as I enjoyed that music fourty years ago.

@@spicecrop they are it’s true they’re hardly virtuoso! But, that said the production, looping and layering is executed flawlessly. There’s a lot to be said for a minimum approach to songwriting especially when you’re a killer lyricist!
@MrKeefelm2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s not exactly complicated parts they’re playing but there is a definite talent to live looping and production on the fly. They obviously write all the songs and do a lot of the production themselves. It’s actually George (drummer) who creates a lot of the parts but Adam seems to be the one who plays on these intimate arrangements with Matty.

@TJ-vt6rt8 жыл бұрын
To all those discussing his vocals. I do love this band sincerely. Is he the best singer ever? No, no he is not. His biggest problem is laziness. Fact. Lazy vocals equal pitch problems. He can sing the song beautifully and with depth the way he wants it to be but he has to realise that he needs to get his inflections correct. That is his problem. It's just lazy. He thinks he is being all emotional and sentimental but he is being lazy with his vocal. It is really that simple. Love this band, one of the true uprises (at least in England) that I can speak of highly over the last 3/4 years. A band, that if you new my distaste for all the indie crap that has been signed lately (won't mention any names) absolutely deserve the success they have had and long live it.
@carolloveskiwis6 жыл бұрын
TJ, yes, sometimes lazy, but Matty's imperfection is what makes his voice so charismatic and interesting. So glad you love the entire band, as do I.
