Damn the 1975 seem at home doing this style of music they've always had minor elements of punk to their music in the lyrics but always seemed held back musically. I'm glad they finally snapped and let their fun angry side out.

Yeah they had a more raw early Fall Out Boy mixed with a folky acoustic side, type of sound. That was before they got all arty and changed to the 1975. As most of the ppl I discovered them when they had their big break with Choclate so I'm not gonna be all 'they were better as BIGSLEEP" or that whatever else they were known as before the 1975 because I obviously didn't know them. But I wouldn't mind of they let their innerpunk out more cause their arty '80's movie soundtrack' sound is getting a bit old. It was cool cause it was a fresh sound when they did Choclate

Good lord......the last 10 seconds or so just....bring...it...home. This band constantly surprises and inspires me. They do THIS. And....they cover "Thank You Next" and nail it...being all groovy RnB. Matty and company are very very interesting. But I love how unabashedly raw and in the moment this entire performance is. You can tell the crowd isn't _used to_ that vibe....but they _get_ it very quick and merge into it. Love this.
