A lot of people don’t realize the importance of the line “I don’t want your body”. This song isn’t about being dumped like your typical heartbreak song. To me it’s about unintentionally pushing that someone away, right onto someone else's arms. I was with my girlfriend for 6 years, since we were 16, we were each others first. We were so in love. Up until a couple years ago. It just faded. I didn’t look at her the same way anymore. She didn’t change, it wasn’t her fault. I just didn’t look at her and get butterflies like I used to. Going on dates felt like a chore. I started not being as sexually attracted to her. It caused a lot of problems with her being insecure about herself and me just not having the energy to help. There was a time when we talked even when there was nothing to talk about. Then I found myself becoming annoyed when she wanted deep conversations. I didn’t want to be with her anymore. But I loved her I wanted her to be mine. Words cannot describe this mindset. But if you know, you know. She finally saw that things weren’t the same and left. Now she’s with someone who treats her like a princess like I used to. I was so torn between feeling relieved to be “free” and being destroyed that she was gone. The thought of her with someone else made me sick to my stomach. I know it’s selfish to think this way. “I don’t want you, but I also don’t want you with someone else.” I was just so used to her being a part of my life. I was so comfortable with her. She was a huge part of my life. I still haven’t found someone who makes me feel the way she used to. Not even close. I’m afraid I never will.

My first ever serious relationship. Been supportive of her(emotionally, physically financially) since senior high til college since her parents couldn't support her, I did, I worked for us. I Even quit college so I can focus solely on finances, so I can help with my family and hers plus it's a great budget cut if only one of us is studying. Been in a toxic workplace because of toxic teammates I couldn't handle; and our relationship started going south because of the toxicity too. I said things I didn't mean. She said things she didn't mean, comparing me to some other guy she met 2 years in our relationship. She said there's nothing going on between them tho and said sorry. Fast forward, 2 months after our 3 yr anniversary, she brokeup with me (my 21st bday too), less than a month later, she's with the guy she told me not to worry about. Not in love with her anymore but there's still the lingering feeling of sadness since she was my best friend too. When I lost her, I lost my lover and more importantly my best friend. She's open to being friends again, but I can't see myself friends with her while she's with that dude. I know I'm going to sacrifice a lot when I'm friends with her again. If you're out there and was able to read this, I'm getting my goals one by one now so I can't afford sacrifices again, sorry... I'm about to have my business I told you we'd be partners o , I'm about to move to my own apartment now, we'd be choosing furnitures and be painting the walls if we we're still together. 1 year from now you'd be graduating, I'd be there, like I promised, but I won't be the one holding your hand after that. I won't even be congratulating you, it's his job now. Hope you two live a happy life. I'm happier now too, I get to enjoy my life as a bachelor cause everyone knew I acted as a father figure to your family, so stop blaming me that my love fell short. You just focused on somebody else's effort. Of course he was able to give you more cause he was born to have more, while i gave less but it was more than everything I ever had. I'm going back to college now too :)
