The NATION went crazy. This was a surreal time. Whenever they played, everyone was glued to their TVs. Nothing like this had ever been seen. I searched for all their games for years, but they’re all on KZbin now and I still watch it almost weekly and get the same chills as we did back then

It was Isiah Thomas' decision to walk off the court. What annoyed Jordan was the disrespect, cause every season the Pistons eliminated the Bulls (with their dirty play), Jordan stayed on the floor, shook their hands, congratulated them, and wished them luck.

Isiah Thomas was practically ALWAYS on the wrong side of history. When he backed Rodman for calling Bird average player cuz he is white. Insinuating Magic being homosexual when it was discovered he had HIV. ISIAH is just a clown

Their name wasn’t for a reputation, but for their actions they were dirty, dirty, dirty…., And it’s a shame cause I really think if they concentrated on just playing ball, they would’ve won a hell of a lot more.. Isaiah, when he was playing with the injured ankle… the sad part is, they could’ve won without the dirty people don’t realize Bill lambert was a hell of a shooter, including three-point range

11:50 Actually, Magic and Larry's relationship had changed drastically by 1992. They had truly become friends by that point. Just before Magic made his shocking HIV announcement, Larry was one of the first people he called.

He didn't say that basketball shouldn't be allowed in the Olympics, he said people didn't think that "professional" basketball players should be allowed to play in the Olympics. The Olympics is supposed to be "non-professional" participants.

Even with an older Bird and Magic on the team, this Dream Team would beat any other professional Dream Team. The reason I say that, is because of the interior players on this team. Barkley, Malone. Robinson, and Ewing were beasts in the low post. Those players got you easy baskets, and beasts on defense and the boards.

Exactly. It’s a non-issue, which Isaiah will never understand. If they failed to win the gold, then he could gripe. But the point was to bring home gold, not placate egos.

@@gavinsheridan4680 funny thing is positionally, they didn't have a PG for most of the olympics as magic and Stockton were hurt. Stockton barely played. Pippen and jordan ran the point a lot but again, it didn't matter.

There was 3 ppl that had a say if Isiah played obviously Jordan who took the blame, then Magic and Larry! Has anyone heard anything from anyone? The rules, the respect level was different then..Magic and Larry were royalty...they saved the league..gave all the new Superstars their opportunity and lifestyle they had..Jordan was clearly carrying the torch at that point how far he would carry wasn't written in stone yet...but ppl were being fed very, very well off of him.. This is when cable was jumping off and NBA was negotiating TV deals and players contracts were multiplying by 10 folds! Pippen and Jordan were still on rookie contracts making 2 and 4 million dollars a year while some players were resigning for 20 million a yr( Ewing, why he was buying beers!). Yes, Magic and Larry were shells of themselves but there is cut footage of Stockton, Malone, Robinson talking about how great it was to play together. How easy it was, every player has max IQ..every player was a A to A+ on virtually everything. Stockton didn't have to call plays..they just did it, first player makes a cur next guy would do what he was suppose to do when 1st player goes back door or slices across the middle..just everyone knew! Every player could score from virtually wherever...Stockton said it was like playing with 10 Malone's...most players beyond Superstars need the ball here, or in this situation, this match up but this team just throw them the ball and it's a good pass, it's an assist lol. Sure Isiah was better than Laetner, Shaq was coming out would have been better player...but not for what they needed! Every team needs a rookie, a guy to get doughnuts, coffee, and do the laundry! Yet, also could eat up mins in practice at SF with on paper same skills Bird has! Bird was legit banged up at that point..Laetner could hit a open jumper and simulate what it would be like if you were playing with Bird! Larry was past the point where he was gonna practice at high level against the guys to argue who was better, it's sad but his back was f'd up! You can't compete at that elite level injured, particularly your back! He wasn't being asked to do much but absolutely should have been there! Magic was a bit older but still under 35 just a bit rusty and out of true game shape! Yet still was 6'8 or 6'9 handling the ball..most PG'S back then we're Stockton's size! Dream team went on runs when they had Bird and Magic on the bench..went unconventional with their lineups. Jordan Pippen Drexel and mix at PW and Center..teams couldn't score on them! Stockton when healthy can be thrown in there too!

It wasn't just MJ that didn't want Thomas on the Dream team. Thomas was Magic's best friend and was the first to ditch him when he got HIV insinuating that magic was gay, just one of several reasons some players on the dream team didn't want him to be on it.

13:40 The reason why you see them getting dunked on so much is cause they were never scared to go up with a player to contest. These days, everyone just tries to take a charge or just gets out of the way cause they be scared to be posterized and humiliated. Back then, no one gettin a free dunk.

Chuck Daley had nothing to do with Isaiah Thomas and the rest of the team walking off. That was Isaiah Thomas’s decision. The rest of the team just followed. If Isaiah would’ve been chosen, there would’ve been no Michael Jordan no Scottie Pippen no Larry Bird on that team.

Isaiah was absolutely good enough to be on that team. In my opinion, he's one of the best 2-3 point guards ever. In a vacuum, he absolutely *SHOULD* have been on that team. But, we don't live in a vacuum. Given the bad blood, it was 100% the correct call. Isaiah had publicly disrespected the three greatest players in history, all of whom would have been teammates. He had a well deserved reputation for playing dirty, and encouraging dirty play. His coach, Chuck Daley, was hired to manage personalities. If Isaiah had been in the squad, Daley would have had two options: A) let Isaiah be Isaiah, alienating the rest of the squad; or B) clip Isaiah's wings, alienating him in the process. Both options would have destroyed the team's chemistry. And in the end, chemistry is what made the Dream Team so special. Yes, the talent was unbelievable. But, the fact that Daley got the talent to gel was a miracle.

The members of the Dream Team combined for 23 NBA championship rings! The Dream Team roster combined for 15 NBA MVP awards! When the NBA at 50 released its top 50 players of all time, a total of 10 members of the Dream Team made that list. The only players that were not on the top 50 were Chris Mullin and Christian Laettner. The 12 players on the Dream Team combined for 117 NBA All-Star Game appearances! Jordan and Malone led the way with 14 appearances each over their entire careers. Eight of the top 50 NBA scorers of all time played on the Dream Team. That list includes Karl Malone (36,928), Jordan (32,292), Patrick Ewing (24,815), Charles Barkley (23,757), Clyde Drexler (22,195), Larry Bird (21,791), David Robinson (20,790) and John Stockton (19,711). 👀👀

They say beer and coffee are acquired taste and I 💯 agree. I tried coffee once and it just repulsed me. The only time I ever drank beer was in college and only when the death punched ran out and only the kegs were left. By then, I probably couldn’t taste the beer anyways😂. But why someone would willing try to keep drinking something so that they might eventually like it? And for what purpose? 😂I don’t get it. And yes, beer taste like piss to me too- even like lighter beers. And don’t get me started on nasty dark and warm Guinness 🤮😂

Isaiah was more deserving then everybody but Jordan, Magic and Bird, based off of his NBA career. In hindsight, Pippen was deserving, but honestly when the team was selected in 1991, he wasn't a huge star. I feel someone like James Worthy would have been more deserving of that spot. Even David Robinson was just getting going with his career in 1991.

My nf friend! I’m still laughing my ass off at you from the 27 minute mark when Barkley dunks on Malone and then you said “ Karl might have lost that one” 😭😭 your look and comment had me rolling brother. So the only college player they had was Christian Laetner who was telling the story right, you probably don’t remember me telling you but one of the documentaries I listed that you should check out after this one was:I Hate Christian Laetner. From his time at Duke. A lot of people said he only made that team because coach K was an assistant to chuck daily and since Laetner played for him at duke he got the spot. Because that last spot was between him, Shaq, and Alonzo Mourning. But if you check out that documentary, you’ll see why he was on that roster brother, even though his game never really transitioned to a successful career in the nba, I find it very hard for someone to convince me of a more clutch and dominant college player than he was at the time. And I honestly, truly hated that man during his college career! See you for part 2

I heard what you saying at the beginning of the video and as a 73 year old who didn’t listen when I was young (like most young people do) to elders (we felt invincible 😂), I’ve got 2 things for you. 1-get negative people out of your life. They try to bring you down because misery loves company. Life is going to throw rough curves at you, It happens to everybody it’s called life. Learn from it whatever you need to learn and throw it away. DO NOT LET IT OWN YOU.

Isaiah was,is and always will be a great b-ball player however this was the Olympics and he was a concern and problem because of his leadership, attitude, scandalous and controversial words combined with interviews that were less than favorable ,half the team didn't care to travel, practice nor play on the same team because he was also a dirty player(his ability to play great ball was never ever the question nor doubted but those of us that watched 80's and 90's ball know what Isaiah is capable of.....
