I was 24 in 98. I had no interest in politics, but Jesse changed that for me. I was excited to vote that day. 1998 was an exciting year in Minnesota. The Vikings were 15-1 and Jesse Ventura shocked the world.

I can see why Jesse won. I was 16 and unable to vote then, but Skip is striking me as a old time politician, Norm comes across as slick willy, or a guy from the east coast, and Jesse just talks sense. Even if all 3 of them are sort of saying the same things politicians are still saying to this day. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Your statement can be said for some things but there is no Ventura in 2024 trying to battle Trump or Harris ..so things did change..Jesse moved on because he doesn't qualify under his terms but back then he found a way...

This is only 26 years ago, yet this seems like watching a political debate of a different people from a different planet, compared to the cesspool that our politics has become today.

I think this was the best possible format for jesse to shine. You have the politicians on either end of him giving the exact same long speal that you tune out of, meanwhile Jesse just seems like a normal no nonsense guy. And the guys on either side just won't stop bickering between the two.
