The 1st DJI Avata Over The Hudson River

After having the DJI Avata (my new drone) for about a month with limited time to fly, I got up the courage to try a few maneuvers that surprised even me, including the beautiful footage I shot while flying over New York City's Hudson River.

Wow the amazement of technology. I felt I was flying in the air like a bird. What a beautiful feeling and so much fun. The scenery was beautiful makes you appreciate what is available to us. Great video and so on point! This drone is for the person that wants to break into FPV but may not want to do the drone racing stuff. It's a great drone and so super stable. I am loving flying mine and looking forward to going to manual mode to just get that extra control. Thank you for putting this video out and reaching out to all of us that just wanna fly our drones without judgement! Keep flying!!!!

The Urban Traveler’s enthusiasm always whets my appetite for exploring new places, staying in tree houses and eating at fun restaurants. This time, Mark’s enthusiasm exceeded that of any other video. As a teacher, I can relate to the excitement of a student when s/he discovers the mathematical method of solving a problem. That is exactly how I saw Mark as he learned and developed his skill in using his Avata drone. It was so much fun to watch and extremely impressive at the same time. Bravo to the pilot! You’re far too modest in your aptitude to maneuver that piece of equipment. I foresee somersaults and flips in your future. Next time, you approach your car with open windows, I know you’re going in. Can’t wait for the next episode at the Vikings game. Very cool! Thank you for always putting a smile on my face when I watch your totally entertaining experiences. You are correct… The DJI Avata drone is a cinewhoop, designed for cinematic video capture. Most people get in trouble when using it as a freestyle drone. Or conducting dramatic yaw turns. I had no issue with my DJI Avata until I tried reenacting the issue. #fail 🙃 You should be fine if you continue to fly it, as it’s designed for.
