Dr. Johnson/Su show that compost extract is better than compost tea! Adding the sugar to the tea narrow the breath of the micro biome! This is a great presentation!

1.Air stone/5gal bucket/air pump (amazon) 2. Organic Worm castings (amazon) 3. Organic unsulphured Molasses (amazon) Done Optional: large fine mesh tea bags (they sell some labeled as compost tea bags nowadays) or can always prob just use cheese cloth if u have some already. Can add Kelp or a few other helpful additives but try not to get crazy. You CAN make a Fert tea, but that's typically not a standard and more targeted to a specific need. It's more so good for everything biological vs nutrients themselves only like a Fert tea would be Also if 5gal home Depot bucket too big, can use smaller. Just don't get too big of an air pump in that case.

@@matthewkheyfets1309 good that you ask. LAB is lactic acid bacteria, basically washed rice water fermented for 1-3 days and mixed with milk 1:10 and fermented again until the milk protein divides from the whey. The latter is our LAB. Effective microorganisms (EM) are a common commercial product also containing lactic acid bacteria, so you can buy it as well, but making your own LAB is simple and dirt cheap. FPJ is fermented plant juice, the juice of fresh herbs/weeds fermented with brown sugar 1:1 for a week. Both are recipes from Korean natural farming (KNF). Matt covered KNF in another episode with Chris Tr*mp. KNF methods are popular especially among commercial cannabis growers... so there is a lot of information out there, but as a starting point, the Shaping Fire podcast episode 35 and 68 give a good introduction and deep dive.

These are excerpts from REGENERATIVE SOIL - just learning a piece here and there leaves out the holistic picture. It's best to take the course or at least get the book that ties all these concepts together: matt-powers.mykajabi.com/regenerative-soil

Hey Matt, do you offer discount for any of your classes or books to US military veterans??. I am certainly interested in your microscopy techniques regarding soil evaluation.
