I do like the bike & I found some other info that you might or might not know? "TheManoy66" is a channel here that boasts of having other Honda bikes that have parts that are interchangeable? I find that interesting as the current suspension is a little bit, "lacking"? He's in one of the nations that have had the 150 for years do it's a well proven bike but like I said, he's on YT & there are 1-2 bikes that you can grab a better front end off of(forks) & the wheels if you wanted but having the forks & rear shock would give a considerable boost in comfort/control. If you still own/ride her this info might be of interest to you as it was to me? Knowing this might sell me on the bike but we'll soon see? peace man

Those bike are super popular in South America. They can run 60000 miles without any trouble if you take care. One cool thing about that engine is the bottom end is beefy, has big bearings and strong rod compared to another 150cc. So you will see drag racers strocking up to 220-240cc and getting like 35-40hp A really popular "every day" mod is 190cc cylinder (athena), a good 28mm carb (no china crap) , ignitec cdi, cams and exhaust that give you like 25hp reliable. You can source that components form Brazil will not be very expesive to you.

@the_trashman I think the CRF250F fit that your needs. Modern suspensión and chasis with a simple 250cc aircooled single cam engine Honda source the engine of that model to make the Honda New Twister 250cc For Latam that bike is like the toyota Corolla in US. You will see lots of those on the road with over 50000km still going strong.

Keeping the front wheel on the ground in the 1st three gears was almost impossible when on the pipe. Mulholland Drive was my friends and my playground. During summer vacation we rode all night long because we could see headlights coming the other way and knew when we could use the entire road. First thing is simple physics, at about 250 lbs....they rock. Here in Indonesia a nice 150 is $2300-2500 out the door. Your XR is cool, I think its south American bike. I've bought a couple $20 carbs in my day. Actually I know pretty much every Chinese carb you can buy. Here's a lil nugget of info, an easier way to get the throttle cable out of the slide than using needle nose pliers, all you do is literally grab the slide in one hand and the top cap in the other hand and push them towards each other compressing the spring and then the cable will pop out the bottom of the slide and you can kinda push the cable over with your finger so it will align in that little slot. Work smart not hard.

My tactic as a young man in the early 80s was to establish an account with a small independent bank. Save up 50% of the msrp of the bike I wanted and approach the bank for the balance on credit. I'd then offer the dealer 10% below retail in cash day of purchase... and make payments 35% over the premium to pay it down within the model year. Breaking in an engine is crucial to its lifetime, normally you would drive half RPM and half throttle for the first 1000km or 600 miles, then change the oil and gruadually increase the throttle an rpm from there . Also breakes and tyres normally need to break in about 100km )60 miles) before the get peak performance

Honda mystifies me. I have a Honda CRF 230L which is the same bike but they discontinued it. Now they bring it back with a luggage rack and 75ccs less displacement. My 2009 model is still running on the original cables bulbs and chain. I replaced only tires brakes filter and oil, and a battery.

They’ve been making this bike since 2003, they only just now brought it to the US market

I’m currently driving a 650cc street bike but I wanna hit some trails. Not into grabbing a dirt bike and making it road legal -so I’m grabbing a dual sport. Getting the KLX300 for myself but I’m looking at an XR150L for my spouse to get them into bikes on something comfy, smooth and easy. Plus, never messed with carbs before because I’m a newer rider and most bikes have EFI. It’ll be nice to learn how to fiddle with even more parts so maybe one day I’ll feel comfortable with restoring an older bike -which has been a lifelong dream of mine.

Yea man, the 150 will be perfect for her. And if she is riding it it will be perfect stock, I only messed with the carb because I’m trying to do wheelies haha

If you want just the plain dirtbike look for a used crf150f made from 2005 to 2016 i think. I could be wrong. It has the same horsepower and weight

I rode an XR125L 30,000km through Africa. All that money saved on the bike paid for living expenses for several months

Bought one a couple months ago, in Jacksonville,N.C. Great bike. Bought it from Lejeune Motorsports, in Jacksonville, by the time they padded the bill, $ 4300.00. They have the market cornered here, they charge premium for everything. Oh well.

I get it, and I would love to ride an XR150. But now I don't feel so badly about having "overpaid" $2,000 for a KL250g Super Sherpa 6spd with 5.3k miles, or overpaid $2,000 for an XT225 6spd with 12k miles. And before think too much about an XR150, I have a $1,600 TW200 5spd with

Noting about this bike is under 3k in the US. Ridiculous mark up because they can compared to the rest of the world. I bought a Lifan KPX 250 instead for under 3k and I’m loving it.

LOL as soon as you start filming in the car a Mtn Dew truck drives through the background. I found that very appropriate for a dirt bike video.

Could you tell me again the kind of carb you replaced the original with? I have a 2023 that does the same thing, and it looks like you solved the problem. Great video!

I have a 2006 BMW F650gs I bought off Craigslist for $3,000. I love it, but at 430lbs, it's hard for my 58 year old, cancer surviving body to off-road/ trail ride. Something like this would be great as a second bike. It would be easy to carry on my mini vans hitch carrier also. No trailer needed. Edit - I never wheelie.

great little video. Simple, to the point. not forever pov video putting us to sleep. i can't believe you have to buy a new carb for a 2023 Honda! That's supremely messed up.
