@@TheCryptisreal You see, it's because the channel name is "Man Carrying Thing" and the skit in question is about the popular movie criticism website Rotten Tomatoes, so the commenter has combined the two into one phrase. Now, what makes this joke clever is that tomatoes (in real life) are actually small things (thing, as in a generic term for a physical object) that one can easily fit in their hand and carry, possibly in preparation to lob at a terrible performer.

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -CS Lewis

Just reminds me of the Patrick Willems rebutal: "You're arguing about space wizards fighting with laser swords in a movie made for 12 year olds" to paraphrase. It's not said in good faith, it just demonizes the audience for having any criticisms because 'lul, kids story, therefore who cares?' The idea with a kids movie shouldn't be that it's only for kids, but rather that it should be a good movie that's *also* been made *accessible* to kids.

"It's fiction bro, it isn't real so it doesn't have to make sense" is such a lazy cop-out. It doesn't have to be scientifically accurate or have 0 plot holes for audiences to buy into the story, but if the people working on it don't care about it, why should the audience?

It might be tied to western audiences’ knowledge of animation being mostly limited to PG or G films, which isn’t a signifier of maturity in writing but can give off the impression of self-censorship, at least in an era where films like “The Marvels” are rated PG-13. The Boy in the Heron was the first animated film rated above PG to win an Academy Award.

@@caiden3396Well, recently a co-worker (mid twenties if I had to estimate) was talking to me about anime. @@legometaworld2728A lot of animation HAS felt too safe and censored, dumb and hyperactive, family pictureish, arguably less mature, or just innocent the past several years now that you mention it, especially compared to how society is now. @@poppers7317 It's... weird. On the one hand, it's animated pretty well, the fights are cool, some jokes kinda worked and overall (If it wasn't a sequel to anything) I'd give it a 6.5 or even a 7. But on the other hand... It's a terrible sequel which doesn't fit the original 3 tonally or thematically at all, has a borderline pathetic villain and altough it was nice to see Tai Lung and Shen respect Po, I don't Kai would have done the same. He would have murdered Po as soon as he saw him. So by viewing it as a sequel it sucks. As a movie? Heh, I kinda liked it. It really depends on what you want. Do you want a thought-provoking, dramatic and adult follow up? Tough luck. Do you want a goofy, kunda funny, well coreographed animal fighting movie? Then why not?

Ok but how does Blorp hold up in the face of the ‘Plankton Farts and Dies’ renaissance era?

Blorp 4 really only makes sense if you watch it before Blorp 3, and consider the last 1/3 of Blorp 2 a dream

I mean there wasn’t much satire in this video, just straight-up the truth.

Literally the Toy Story and Kung Fu Panda movies. Y'all got your rose tinted glasses screwed on so tight they're fused with your flesh.

Man carrying thing's analysis on the hit stop motion movie blorp 1 and its analogy on adulthood is very interesting (in an adult way) Blorp's fathers death was very emotional. I must agree, but still, he was just a kid, and that didn't resonate with me because I am an adult, and thus, I didn't really feel the scene, buts it's OK because at the end he grows up and becomes just like me (fr(btw i am ryan gosling)) Thanks for the analysis MCT

Blorp 4 isn’t even worth downloading for YTP material, it’s just punching down at that point. The YTP crowd sticks to Blorp and a couple scenes from Blorp 2.
