I’m admittedly probably what people would refer to as “GP” (just by virtue of not living near many amusement parks and being a college student who doesn’t have time/money to road trip), but I’ve gotten really addicted to your videos recently. I’ve learned a lot about different coasters and manufacturing companies from you. I really like coasters and riding them, but I haven’t got a lot of credits because of my location (Carowinds is the closest thing to me, for reference). This channel really makes me wanna start to branch out and try everything. Thanks for the great content!
@bryantoliveira28134 жыл бұрын
You're not GP. GP is for people who fit 2 categories - 1. Act like they know roller coasters/amusement parks and constantly give out wrong information. 2. Think whatever rides are at their home park are "the greatest/scariest/tallest etc ever"

Carowinds is my home park also. It's really upgraded in the last 10 years or so. Nothing wrong with having Fury 325 at your doorstep. I did a park trek in the early 2000s that was pretty affordable. Had the Paramount pass and did a day trip to Six Flags over Georgia to get that pass. Hit Kings Island, SF Worlds of Adventure (lol), Cedar Point, Hersheypark, Kennywood, SF New England, SF Great Adventure, SF America, and Kings Dominion. Lot of sleeping in my car, but it wasn't terribly expensive. Managed to hit a few that are no longer around including Volcano, Hypersonic XLC, and the actual looping Son of Beast (it was just as painful and rough as everyone says).

Of all the 102 coasters I've been on, my top 5 drops are: 5. Steel Curtain 4. Millennium Force 3. I305 2. Twisted Timbers 1. El Toro I'm really surprised Twisted Timbers didn't make this list. It gives hangtime and very powerful airtime at the same time, while also giving strong lateral forces. It's just pure insanity. I love X2's first drop. I have only been on that ride 5 times and all 5 were in in both the 1st and 2nd rows, but that face-first dive is great no matter what. I also like the first drops that occur after the launches on Incredicoaster at California Adventure and Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Hollywood. Both give some good airtime. Depending on where you sit on Incredicoaster, you can get either some floater airtime or ejector airtime.

It also makes me feel like I’m about to slip out of the middle during inversions. I’ve yet to ride anything 200 feet, but here are a few of my favorites: -Lightning Run: That dive right off the hill, though not the tallest, is amazing. -Mystic Timbers: I love the feeling of flying sideways into the curve. -The Bat: Just plain fun going into the ravine. -Thunderhead: I rode it in high school and it was one of the few fun memories I have of Dollywood. Going back this year for my birthday and we’ll see how it holds up.

I rode diamondback back in may this year with my friends. There were five of us, so one had to sit alone. It was me. That first drop was absolutely insane, and after the ride was over, I shook hands with the guys sitting behind me.

I went on X2 in the back row when I was 5... Can confirm, is insane. I've been terrified of coasters ever since. I still ride them though.

I actually got to experience Banshee in the back row (which was a luck based mission since the ride ops were assigning rows). Intense doesn't even begin to describe it. The drop and pretzel knot were especially bonkers.
Superman: Escape from Krypton has a fantastic first drop...which is also the last element of the ride...

El Toro is definitely the top of my list. Better than expected. My tops...in no particular order Thunderbolt (Kennywood) Millennium Force El Toro Griffon & Lochness Monster, probably because it’s the first major coaster I rode back in 1981 at age 9 and it still thrills me all these years later.

Im with you on Raging Bull. Honestly in my 3 visits to the park, that was one of the rides I look forward to the most. Not sure if its my FAVORITE hyper, but its DEFINATELY underrated.

My favourite is easily Expedition GeForce drop. Insanely intense and the laterals really add to it and make it feel insanely out of control. Although I really enjoyed Untamed's drop aswell

Wow..Maverick at only 19? It's great because its so small. I have no idea how they got so much of a bang out of such a low first drop, but it gets me every time and while the back is of course the best, the front is still insane too.

I'm shocked that B&M winged coasters aren't here. I love the feeling of being hung upside down before that curve down to the ground. Swarm at Thorpe park is an absolutely great example of this and is actually a pretty great ride all around pulling some nice sustained g and the zero g roll is one of my favourite moments on any coaster. It's just far too short
@FinesseBTW3 жыл бұрын
I've ridden GateKeeper and that wing over drop is awesome. The thing that ruins it is the fact that the second the train starts to bottom out, the restraints decide it's time to staple you so hard your hips start to hurt. If that didn't happen, those drops would be legendary

I’m not an enthusiast but I always have loved roller coasters. Knotts his my home park and we went to cedar point last year! Goliath at magic mountain may not be the best ride, but it’s drop is amazing for me, especially in the front

I would have thought you were insane if I was told this a couple years back but honestly one of my favorite drops is on Timberwolf at WoF, rode it in the back row the other day just to get the credit and OMFG! The airtime was almost demonic! For the first time ever on a coaster I was legitimately scared! You hit the drop with some speed and it's pretty normal until you hit the little kink and I actually screamed in terror! It was heavenly!!!

Impressed on how high you ranked Raging Bull! I rode it the first year it opened in 1999 and it’s my first hyper! The whip in back coming off of the lift hill into the first drop is amazing! If you are sitting in the back row it pulls you so forcefully down that first drop. It does get bashed, but it’s such a good hyper!

With Millie I feel it depends on how it’s running. If the weather is good and the lift motors are working properly it absolutely hauls over the first drop and you’ll gray out on the overbank. On a bad day it’s, well, you know the nickname. I’ve never had a bad ride, just some are definitely better than others.
