It's nice to see more people acknowledging how good of a set Cyberdark Impact actually was in retrospect. Vanity's Fiend/Ruler, the Barrier Statues, Chain Strike, Accumulated Fortune, and Instant Fusion have all seen significant usage.

The actual garbage set was Tactical Evolution and Shadow Spectors. Those sets had almost no good cards, loads of pack filler, etc. Tactical Evolution brought us Geminis the worst concept and sub type in YGO history

Here's the full list of core sets that I'd consider "bad": Ancient Sanctuary, Soul of the Duelist, Rise of Destiny, The Lost Millennium, Elemental Energy, Shadow of Infinity, Tactical Evolution, Absolute Powerforce, Generation Force, Galactic Overlord, Judgment of the Light, Shadow Specters, Secrets of Eternity, Shining Victories, Extreme Force, Rising Rampage, Blazing Vortex, Lightning Overdrive, Battle of Chaos, and Dimension Force. I'd say GX, Zexal, and whatever we call the ROTD-CYAC era had the highest amount of bad sets. But those eras also had some of the most insane sets ever that completely changed the game - namely Phantom Darkness, Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy, and Power of the Elements.

Hey at around 4:30, the interaction you mentioned with Treeborn and Econ have always been legal. What the change to once per turn errata did was that if Treeborn is negated while in graveyard, it can't attempt to come back again (IE: you can no longer drain all the negates off LADD with treeborn)

Yeah, this was the year it was clear they over balanced the GX sets. And then we got a hell of a spike in powercreep with Phantom Darkness.

One side note about the duelist packs. They were everywhere back in gx. Every store and vending machine had a ton of the. And everyone wound up owning nearly every common and rare in the sets. They also gave kids a second chance at many elemental hero fusions, which were all ultra rares in core sets for some reason. Ultimately, Konami killed the goose that laid the golden eggs with a lot of unintersting 5ds era duelist packs, but they were a huge hit despite not adding many new cards to the game. One weird thing about duelist packs that holds true to this day is that the pull rates are atrocious. Despite their lower cost of entry, nearly every pack has bulk in it, which always frustrates players, forcing konami to shelve the product for a while.

This was before its errata so it only needed one player to have 15 or more cards in its grave to activate. It was fairly easy even back then to fill up your graveyard, then flip EoS during the draw phase to basically deck out your opponent.

Just a little criticism. Using the alternate/second art for Cyber Dragon in the deck lists was really confusing in both this and the previous video, especially when you used the original art to introduce the card.

This is when I stopped playing yigioh! I'm doing that broke return from different dimension. I am telling you, bro I use that in my light return chaos, light return deck and then, once I've won a few tournaments with it. People started using it. I just couldn't travel, but I was the one that broke that card. My dad got stolen at a regional which I was about to win. And that's when I quit. You best believe the first card I bought when I came back was shrink. Just let you know. I was able to counter the chaos return using thunder yan yan n my deck lol Gabe them thunder witch would pop and I would keep there monster lol

I’d rather a set be irrelevant to the Meta but fun for casuals than being an abomination to gameplay like cyberdark impact. Idc how relevant the stun cards and instant fusion were, Yugioh would’ve been in a better place if the set never released and absolutely deserves being known as one of the worst sets.
