DODGE AND CHEVY NEEDS TO TAKE SOME NOTES ON HOW TO BUILD A PROPER POLICE PACKAGE VEHICLE.

police taurus interceptor needed to come awd standard because of weight transfer from the front to the rear. fwd would be a lightweight in the front, in all circumstances police should have awd for the best control in all angles of weight transferring

@ Brandon Hess... It's suppose to be updated for 2017.

The Taurus could use a front-end redesign for 2017-18 to both provide better airflow for the V6-3.5 EcoBoost and retrofit quad headlamps (as has been done on the Explorer for 2016) to this low sedan platform. My ideal package for a slick could be executed with primarily Whelen hardware, viz., InnerEdge DUO fore and RTX aft, centerline AVN1R steady-burn forward, ION mirror and nudge-bar lights, NP6BB alley lights on the cage partition, dual P46SLC searchlamps, and a CenCom or CAN-TROL ARU driving an SA316 on the nudge bar. The Fenix Cannons actually outperform the Whelen Vertex, so would factor in the BTTR and pass-luminaire wigwags.

The headlights on the utility look great (reminds me of the Taurus-X) but those fog lights are goofy with the flat part of the bumper in the middle. I see that they are still using the projector headlights for the sedan, though.

I want one just for personal use/ volunteer response... Looks like fun to drive them.

I see they did the explorer like they did the crown Vic's the first ones had a crowm line on the back and the second ones has black. Wonder why they didn't do that for the Taurus? Put crowm across the back of the 2012-2014 and then put black across the 2016 ones???

What push bars are those?
@SIRENNET7 жыл бұрын
The push bumpers that you see mounted on the sedan are Setina's PB-450L LED Lighted Push Bumpers. If this is a product the you are interested in purchasing call our sales team: 503-670-4700 M-F 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Pacific Time. You can also email us at info@sirennet.com

Is that ford fusion?
@SIRENNET8 жыл бұрын
The sedan is actually the Interceptor. It's similar to the Taurus and has a few styling points that resemble the Fusion.

Does AWD come Standard?
@SIRENNET9 жыл бұрын
pug Williams AWD from our understanding is the standard on the Interceptor Platforms.
@chpman20139 жыл бұрын
pug Williams Yes...when they originally came out, AWD was optional...but the ordering for AWD was so high that AWD was eventually made standard.

the suv looks like a ford explorer
@SIRENNET8 жыл бұрын
+Renz Abby Alipda The Explorer and Interceptor are roughly 70 percent twins. The Interceptor see's some tweak here and there. The Interior is different as is the shifter: Floor verse on the Column. Bigger brakes and different rubber is included on the Interceptor as well as a very strong rear impact safety system. They are also pursuit rated while the Explorer itself is not.

Looks like they put bigger wheels on the car version and that suv is one ugly looking thing sort of a cross of the Edge and Pontiac Aztec. Would be nice to see what the inside looks like. Good walk around. Thanks.
@chpman20139 жыл бұрын
KD0LRG I think those are just test wheels, the standard p.i. sedan would still use those black 5-spoke steel wheels.
@dattape28288 жыл бұрын
so, can our mere mortals buys one?
@SIRENNET8 жыл бұрын
Typically dealerships only offer the PPV's to Department based customers or Fleet accounts.
@SIRENNET8 жыл бұрын
But that doesn't mean you can't wait a few years... After their service life, they are then available for resale in most states. Chris @ Sirennet keeps dreaming of building a Utility into a track monster.

drive a 6.0 Caprice,and you will realize what a pos loser this ford is..The Caprice is the best one on the road..why don't all depts purchase the Caprice,then ? because it is about 2-3 k more than the ford and chargers price..they always take the LOWEST BID...you get what you pay for..hard to find,but well worth it...
@Lieutenant_Dude7 жыл бұрын
arthur green Well that and parts for the Caprice have to be shipped from Australia. That harms its usefulness in police fleets. That's largely why the Charger is the most popular new patrol/pursuit car. The Ford just has no guts compared to the Charger, and Chevy's Caprice is really inconvenient to maintain/repair. Otherwise, I would agree that the Caprice is the best of the three.
@KB-bh9hp7 жыл бұрын
True but the explorer is the best all around,fast enough,obviously more utility and unlike the charger reliable,don't shoot the messager just relaying what I've heard from friends in the force,earlier explorers had a few issues but they've been resolved
@stang896177 жыл бұрын
...And it WAS made in Australia...GM was going to start building it in the States,but they balked,as usual..the Caprice would have been the most popular police vehicle,hands down,especially if the price went down 4-5k,which it would have had they stopped having to build,and ship them all the way from Australia..what a shame,like the 94-96 LT1 Caprices..stopped making them all-together right when they were becoming popular again..smart move,GM..now Ford dominates the PPV market,once again..Caprice's are no longer being built,Anywhere...Shame
@KB-bh9hp7 жыл бұрын
arthur green Well the explorer is a great car I own one very reliable.
@KB-bh9hp7 жыл бұрын
arthur green Saying it's a reliable car at least if it has the 3.5 or 3.7 duratec engine both those engines have a reputation for being very reliable,which is arguably the most important element of a cop car,as for the water pump only people with explorers who've had that issue from what I've heard have been those with the ecoboost engine.I have no idea if the stability issues pertain to the cop versions exclusively as I have taken my base explorer up to about 65-70 on a curvier highway with about 25 degree turns with no issue heard the sport handles high speed turns even better,but a few suspension components have been changed for the cop variant so that can be the cause or possibly the added weight creates issues with stability when all that additional weight is transferred around in pursuit driving scenarios but as I said this hasn't been a issue for myself.However if cops are trying to take 90 degree turns at 55 mph in a top heavy vehicle and they have issues it's no one's fault but their own,I respect cops but sometimes their stupidity and carelessness makes me want to scream at them,like when they fly through my neighborhood at 45 mph with little kids playing by the street want to say hey dumbass,there's a speed limit and speed bumps for a reason moron,and no this wouldn't be them getting to a call most likely as there are normal roads right next to my neighborhood with a standard speed limit,if he were trying to reach a crime scene why would he travel through a neighborhood rather than use the standard road,especially when both roads run parallel to one another and no he wasn't going to a call in my neighborhood because I followed him,abet at a slower pace and saw him leave my neighborhood,experiences like that coupled with getting pulled over for "not mantaining my turn signal" basically turned right on a intersection and my blinker basically turned off automatically as I was completing my turn as it does with almost all cars,yep got pulled over for that,got a ticket,but they can't pull over the people street racing on the freeway constantly really?Not to mention when my car got stolen in a fucking paid parking lot yes a paid parking lot which didn't have any form of security,they were putting parking tickets on my stolen car like half a dozen over the course of a few weeks,it had a busted window and a ripped apart interior but that didn't alert them to the situation nor the fact that the accumulated tickets didn't tip them off that it had likely been left in the location for some time?That's not even the best part this chick living in the place by my car called them multiple times telling them about my car and they though she was joking.I get cops are needed in society and I'm far from a cop hater but goddamn maybe my luck is just that shitty.
