For over 20 years, the #AudiS4 has been one of the best sleeper fast sedans for enthusiasts looking to slide a little under the radar. The current model has about 350 HP, standard Quattro AWD, and the ability to sprint to 60 MPH in about 4.4 seconds. For 2020, #AudiFirstDrive has given the #S4 a new look inside and out but the engine remains the same. Designed to be in-between the #AudiA4 and #AudiRS4, the S4 continues to provide enough power for most enthusiasts looking for just one car to do everything.

And by the way, you sound like an absolute moron judging someone’s financial situation based on a comment they made.

The S4 still has fog lights. They’re integrated into the headlights for better visibility.
@theredline
@theredline 4 жыл бұрын
AJ Lee Those are technically not fog lights, Audi calls them all-weather lights. They expand the width of the headlights reach but not necessarily on the lower end which is where fog lights add more light.
@ajlee6933
@ajlee6933 4 жыл бұрын
Redline Reviews, you might want to test these once you get one for a few days. I think Audi just calls them “all weather” because it sounds cooler. I think the placement in the headlights works better because the light shines directly in the drivers sight, instead of on the ground.

jeepluv76 agreed. One of the downsides of VW group owning so many brands. If they go a design direction, it shows up in half of the car brands out there. Makes it harder for each brand under their company to have as much unique identity if they all end up morphing into one general car.

Lucien L Re-read my comment. I am referring to how design choices from VW group end up in a lot of brands because they own the brands. As in: lambourghini, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, VW’s that end up having a common design idea because they are under the same parent company. They aren’t copying from each other. The companies are having similarities forced upon them by VW group.

MrSweeper Manuals don’t pair with the crazy horsepower war going on between manufacturers, but at least you can still find them in sporty, lower powered cars. (Civic Type R, Si; MX-5; WRX, STI; BRZ/86; Wrangler; heck, even Corolla has auto-blip manual) So stick with normal brands, and manuals are still possible. The stupid pissing contest between higher end brands will always go dual-clutch.

@@AutoEnthusiastJC Manuals are NOT limited because of horsepower. All three of America's muscle/pony cars offer them in their highest powered trims save Ford, but it's not like 526 HP is a slouch either. The BMW M2/3/4 cars still have them at 400+ HP. The previous normal BMW 3- and 4-series still had them at ~360 HP. The Corvette had one all the way up to 750 HP. The lack of manual on these new cars is simply because the people who can afford cars in this price range either have insufficient nostalgia for the manual or are too decrepit to appreciate one. Audis don't sell primarily on their sportiness, they sell primarily by being well-made and comfortable. The sport comes extra.

@Konos44 Was fine in the B8 A4/5 series. Is fine in the 8V A3 series. Audi knows how to make it work, I suspect they thought the smoothness of the 8-speed autobox would be a boon. IMHO, it was a poor choice for the sporty cars. Ironically, it's the 2.0L A-level cars that still have the DCT.

The 2020 Jetta GLI my son just got has a very similar rear. I had a 2017 S3 and liked the looks of that better than this. Considered this before I bought the 2020 BMW M340 xdrive. Very happy so far with the BMW.

This is a gorgeous and all around amazing machine but I just can't see how people justify these luxury vehicles amymore when you can get near-equivalent performance/luxury for significantly less via the stinger or genesis g70. Edit... okay 4.2s 0-60 for 60-65k plus all the Audi niceties is a solid value.

@@RM-ep2dc there are 2020 S4s in my area (central iowa) for 60k nearly fully loaded... I don't go by MSRP. That's not realistic to what you'll pay at a dealer. But yes, you can have pretty much all the same features on other (cheaper) brands nowadays... and I'm for sure picking up a loaded GT2 stinger for 48-50k long before I buy one of these

And not to correct you but Audi did not get rid of the fog lights in the B9, it still exists up in the headlight itself. And if you launch an Audi you have to shut down the traction control to get all of it..If you didnt that launch wasn't as fun as it could have been!

I traded in my B8.5 S4 for an A5. I found the S4 too front heavy, when pushed on a curvy road it had too much understeer. Due to Audi putting engine in front of the front axle the 6 cylinder Audi’s aren’t that much fun to drive. This problem is much less pronounced on their 4 cylinder cars and the power deficit compared to the six cylinder cars is much less than you’d expect. Only downside to me is the disappointing sound emitted by the 4 cylinder engine.

The ventilated seat/massaging seat functions are mutually exclusive because the massage uses air cushions, which is a lot cheaper than using a mechanical massage, but it makes it impossible to have both from an engineering standpoint.

The B9 generation Audi cars are disappointing. The prestige models means the car comes fully loaded with all options offered by Audi for that car like in the B8 and B7 generations but now they charge you additionally for the Rear diff so you have to get the Sports Package and to get Dynamic Steering is in another package and the Driver assistances package is also separate. Doing this takes away from having a real Audi Sport experience in its vehicles in my opinion. Lastly do they allow you to lock the doors with the engine running now? This was a HUGE negative for me in my B8 S4

Brad Huggins I completely agree. I’m just gonna get me a GLI and go with that. I have a mk6 Jetta and was considering an A4, but the GLI is really nice. It has nice space and plus I’ve done away with any doubts of the Jetta longevity. Oddly enough the base TT has become a pretty pure driver’s car compared to the outlandish competition, so I’d love to see your take on it in 2020. Btw, you came off super genuine in this video dude!
