What began as an experiment for BMW, quickly turned into a new segment with new competition from Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, and even Infiniti. For 2020, the most powerful version of the X6 returns as the #X6MCompetition. The 617 HP #BMWX6M offers 0-60 performance in under 4 seconds and offers sport sedan like reflexes with the practicality you'd expect from a modern SUV.

I don’t understand why auto critics hate these “coupe” SUVs. I think it turns way more heads when you see one drive by then a normal SUV. Whether you like its looks or not at least it stands out - which at this price point you would think you’d want something more unique looking. Stop asking automakers to take risks with new designs and then hate on it when they do..

I still remembered all of them didn't believe X6M would succeed. But the X6M successfully created a whole new segment and all manufacturers finally crowded into this particular segment to copy X6M and earn money. Interestingly the normal X5 and X6 sales ratio is around 4:1(4 X5 : 1X6). But X6M sells as much as X5M and sometimes even more. The first two generations of X6M sold around 20000 units globally while the first two gen X5M number is also around 20000 units. The third gen X6M is better than ever. I think it will also be a huge success. GLE63s Coupe, RsQ8, Cayenne turbo coupe, Urus and others won't be able to compete with X6M. It's just too good.

That thing is a fuckin beast, I love the X6 and I've always been a fan of the coupe SUVs period, the M version is just absurdity but It's definitely the one I'd take over its competitors the RSQ8 and GLE63... Great review as always. I just got a 22 X6M Competition. Quick question for anyone here when you put it into M1 mode (everything in aggressive mode) is the shifting only manual via the paddle shifters ? Or can it shift on its own? I’ve only had it for 2 days but every time I put it in M1 mode it shifts only manually via paddle shifters, it won’t shift on its own.

You did not mention about the remote open/close trunk button near the memory seat settings buttons. That's a unique and good placement. It has 8-speeds, but it's down 1-2 gears to Mercedes and other competitors in general.

Sofyan, I have a great plan. The compact and midsize car segment will now be segments for enthusiasts. With Compact Crossovers replacing midsize cars as the car of choice for people. The compact and midsize car segment have no choice but to be a segment for enthusiasts. Hyundai is coming out with the sonata n line, Elantra n line, and Elantra n, Toyota has the Camry TRD, Honda has the Civic Si and type r, VW has the Golf GTI and the Jetta GLI, Subaru has the wrx and wrx sti, Kia has the k5 and forte GT. How about Subaru release an sti version of the legacy, Nissan release a nismo version of its Altima, Sentra, and versa sedans, Mazda revive Mazdaspeed with the new mazdaspeed 3 and mazdaspeed 6 (I know Mazda is trying to go luxury, but I feel like they can combine driving engagement and luxury into one amazing package. BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes AMG do just that). If sedans turn into a market for enthusiasts. It would make a whole lot of sense since many families are choosing crossovers for the family needs.

I am pretty sure your specs are wrong. It has 553 pound feet of torque, not 567, and the curb weight is 5375... when you verbally referenced the curb weight, you were accurate, however the printed specs were wrong.
